Celine Dion or Whitney Houston?

Who do you guys think is the best singer?
Celine or Whitney?
I personally thinks that celine is the better one, but what do you guys think?

Pure voice quality, depth and even range point to Celine. And dont even get me started on record sales lol! Love both tho

I love both ladies and think that there is room for both, but when it comes to range, clarity, power, emotion and just shear sound I prefer Whitney. That woman's voice has been touched by Angels and I have yet to hear a voice that is in the same league as hers. It is absolutely flawless!

No competition at all - Celine has the better voice. Her voice is flawless. She can sing beautifully at the drop of a hat. She never has to worry about what her voice is going to sound like. She sounds fabulous live. She doesn't need the recording studio to "fix" her voice. It is perfect, and she can sing just about any song and have it sound wonderful!

Celine all the way. She is a true artist who takes care of herself. She's just in a different class than Whitney. Just saw Celine in Vegas and she was breathtaking.

Whitney Houston outclasses Celine Dion both vocally and in terms of career accomplishements. She did 5 studio albums + 3 soundtracks, and has sold almost as much as Celine who has released 40 albums. lol Not to mention that Whitney ruled hollywood too in the 90's. Vocally, Whitney's voice is richer and just more beautiful, Celine sings from her nose most of the time. That being said, Celine is definitely in the top 5 of great voices, just nowhere near close to Whitney!

close competition as far as the vocal ability goes. but i've been a celine fan since 2nd grade...i don't know...whitney did after all play an AWESOME fairy godmother in rodgers and hamerstein's cinderella.(the one with brandy.)and i love whitney, too. but, as a whole person, i'd have to go with celine. she's a MUCH better role model for young, aspiring singers. no offense, whitney.

I haven't hear either Celine's or Whitney's songs, so I'll call their voices as equal. I do watch old Whitney videos while playing Diana Ross songs... and watch Celine chest poundings to Tarzan yells. Whitney has much better legs and can shake it. Much better looking! Whitney is so much better!

Actually, if you do your research properly, you'll find that all of Whitney's 5 studio albums altogether has still sold relatively less than 5 of Celine's albums (NOT all 40). Whitney's 5 album sales (in millions) total 30+25+13+15+6 = 89 million.
Celine's 5 studio album sales, in millions,(yes ONLY 5 not 40), total 20+9+31+31+12 = 103 million.
Both artists' album sales DO NOT include greatest hits, compilation albums or holiday albums; only 5 STUDIO albums. So, please, just because Celine Dion recorded a lot more albums than Whitney doesn't mean her record sales are inflated.
Oh, and also: David Foster, producer of The Bodyguard, and of Whitney's 2 studio albums, as well as Celine's albums, has said that Celine is "the greatest singer on the planet" ahead of Whitney Houston and Barbra Streisand. you can go to youtube and find this interview, type in David Foster pt 2 . David foster also mentions Celine as the "greatest singer in the world" on Oprah's 2004 show ---the after the segment clip.

Definitely 100% agree. Celine Dion has the purest, clearest tone with the clearest high notes. There is also a very unique pitch in her tone that's very recognizable.
