Hard to take your opinion seriously when you didn't even realize that Leslie Mann plays Alison's sister, not her friend.

I think if you are going to review a movie and criticize it for its shortcomings on editing, you should at least have the character role in the movie correct. Leslie Mann played her sister, not her embittered married friend. This information was not hard to figure out from the movie.
