Since when do we censor and band art in this country because people are offended over interpret metaphors not literal words. Capelton like every one in America has freedom of speech.

The Red Fox is only a business who in the entertainment industry, a platform for music and art. People vote with there dollars in this free market. If people don't support this artist he wont be back here. But to ban an artist and affect peoples livelihoods seems selfish. When this artist has committed no crimes.

The Federal government isn't banning this artist. A group of people who don't like the interpretation of an artist lyrics want to. And have waged a campaign to demonize a man who brings much joy to many people all over the world, far more than are offend. Capelton is not a monster he is an artist.

Where do you draw the line with censorship. Capleton is not infringing on peoples rights. Censorship does!

Quote "...asked myself if as a publicist I would refuse to write up any of those, and I would not.”

Huh? You would not...Refuse? Write about them? Unclear.

Best wishes, a tough call to have to make.

How very curious. Are we going to go back to the fake number about how many Gay kids commit suicide? And the very people that demand bullying be ended, are bullying this woman?

You state that the artist has the right of Free Speech. You then go on to say that the government is not banning the artist. So no one is abridging his right of free speech, since it can only be abridged by government, not groups of individual citizens. Free speech sometimes has consequences, but still, no one is abridging his right.

In addition, artists have been censored by decades in this country. Ever heard of the Hayes Board in the movies? Or the books banned in Boston? Or the Catholic Church banning movies such as The Last Temptation of Christ? I believe there has been and is much more censorship in this country than you imagine.

Emma Breacain has the quality I admire most in a person....integrity. Integrity is the test all of us take everyday with the answers right in front of us. What all of us have to do is keep our minds and hearts open enough to see those answers.
In todays world of nasty, gotcha, self-centered, look at me I'm a journalist so I must know what I"m pontificating about mind set, I am refreshed to read an article written by someone with a backbone.
This world will not heal unless all of us use our own brains and realize that, truly....Without love in our dream...it will never come true.

Actually HSU practices censorship daily. It's called Speech code, the gov't decides what is and isn't ok to say. The intent is to keep people from being offended. The problem is you do not have a right to not be offended. The verbiage is also used to encourage grouping and to promote the disunity of multiculturalism. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speech_code

She also knows how to get her name in the paper. I have a feeling her loss of income for her publicity releases is small and the free advertising she just got made up for it.

Tanya Stephens is wonderful. If only performers like Capleton could take to heart the message of love she spreads in songs like "Do You Still Care."

Capleton has a long history. For anyone curious, I'd invite you to check out the web site http://www.soulrebels.org/dancehall.htm , or search on "Murder Inna Dancehall." Capleton was offered the opportunity to reject music calling for hate and violence towards anyone. He agreed, then reneged on his agreement.

Promoters also have a long history of lying about their performers histories, that's why I'd invite you to check things out yourself, rather than take promoters words for things. Emma B sounds like a person with true integrity -- thank you!

Big up Tanya Stephens and Capleton. Wish I was going to be here to see them. I am sure they will bless everyone with positive reggae vibes. I have never been to a reggae show that promoted hate or violence. Seen both of these performers several times and they rock...Thank you Bonus Entertainment. Keep bringin up those reggae artists. Peace and love to all...even the haters.

So...boycott the Red Fox. And boycott Bonus Entertainment. For this and many shows to come. And definitely let them know why. They should have known better, or perhaps they just don't care. I'm guessing it's the latter.

Hey I just heard about this band called "we hate ralphs" and they sing songs about killing anyone named ralph because they do bad things the band doesnt like and they feel are against their god. Their songs are so popular where they are from that a mob left one of their shows and went to a house that had a man named Ralph in it and burnt it to the ground, killing him, while celebrating in the streets and singing the band's song.
Let's book that band here and see how you feel Ralph, is that ok with you?? Just dont let them know where you live or you might be next!!!!!

I dont see any of the bands that talk about killing blacks, raping women, etc being invited to play here. It's just under the guise of reggae, which is not "all good".

I think just tell people what the music is about, and let them decide what they want to listen to. I fail to see how banning this artist changes anything. Don't like the music, don't go to the show. End of story. Protest outside the venue, if you want to. That is his art and opinion and he has the right to express them. The person who commits the crime is responsible for the crime.

non government corporations compromise peoples civil rights all the time. yet, somehow you missed that part...as far as speech goes, there is no longer a right to free speech in amerika. simple as that.there is protected speech, but that aint free speech.we aint as bad as a total dictatorship yet, but we are getting there, and it is only a matter of time.

Cowering down to how your friends believe you should behave is not integrity! She only changed her mind in being Bonus's publicist after her friends pushed her to do so. it sounds like she fell to peer pressure to me! Integrity would be standing up for what you believe in not what your friends believe in!

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Virgo

You're feeling restless and need to introduce as much variety into your day as possible. However, you'll want this to be on your own terms, and you certainly won't like it if plans are changed without your consent or you feel you've lost control of the situation. Try to take everything in your stride, otherwise you'll end up feeling exhausted and frazzled.
