Audio recordings of Lewis' BBC radio broadcasts?

Does anyone know if there exists any archives of the radio-broadcasts C.S Lewis did for BBC radio during WWII? The book "Mere Christianity" was a compilation of these radio talks, but were these talks ever recorded?

I have checked through the BBC website for any such archives, but have not found any. Do they exist? I'd be surprised if the BBC didn't keep such archives somwhere...

I believe there are only two excerpts of Lewis reading from chapters 3 and 11 of "Beyond Personality" from those lectures that the BBC has. The rest of the tapes have not survived. There used to be an audio book of Mere Christianity read by Michael York that included these excerpts of the surving Lewis lectures. I don't know if you can find the York audio books anymore though.

Lewis reading his text from "The Four Loves" is available on cassette tape from various sources.

Great, thanks. Dare I ask if he was ever filmed? Since he was interviewed for Time Magazine and was well-known during his life, did anyone ever point a film-camera at him and record him speaking?

I have found zero info about this, but would be surprised that someone of his fame would never even once have been filmed. Anyone know?

Not as far as anyone knows. However, there's always a chance that somebody out there filming their kids at some school event with an old 8mm cam may have gotten some footage of Lewis too and not even realized it.

I too am looking for the Mere Christianinty broadcasts to use for a Sunday School class. Can anoyne offer any additional help in tracking down these or other Lewis recording?

There's only the one surviving tape portion I mentioned earlier in the York audio book. That same portion can be found in a documentary about Lewis that came out a couple of years ago. I don't remember the name of it off-hand though. But why not just buy the two CD's that are available from the Episcopal bookstore? They have *The Four Loves* plus *CS Lewis Speaks His Mind*. hey guys did ull know that c.s lewis and j.r.r tolkien were really good friends...if yes can ull me more about them...a.s in i have heard j.r.r tolkien used to always criticize lewis on few points on his writing! is this true?
