Hi there.

I´m just wondering if Buddy Holly´s bass player ever did play electric bass on any of the recording with the Crickets?

Hope someone could help me!

Thanks

If it wasn't for the "black man" you would have rock and roll, dolt!

Buddy Holly was the Mozart of popular (Rock n Roll) music. The question is not to think of what he may have done in the future, the question should be what would today's music be without having had a Buddy Holly.
Answer... Probably NO Beatles, No Rolling Stones, No Hollies, No Hermans Hermits, No Peter and Gordon, No Searchers, No Ramones, No Elton John .... I could go on... What these air heads under 30's from N.America dont realize is that in 1958 Buddy Holly and the Crickets were the "Beatles" of the day in the UK. and Influenced all the pre mentioned bands and artists. Buddy Holly's music continued to be released in the UK resulting in recordings in the top of the charts for each year through , 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962 and 1963. Infact having FOUR top 20 hits in 1963/4 with recordings of Brown Eyed Handsome Man, Bo Diddley, Reminiscing and Wishing. Buddy Holly's influence to musicians in the UK is above all others. He continues to have influence till today and has had a top ten album every decade from the 1950's to present. probably one of the only artists to achieve such a status. Make no mistake Buddy Holly's influence on musicians from the UK is enormous!! RAVE ON, Buddy..... and The Crickets

"Buddy Holly was the only original rock and roller. Even Elvis borrowed from the Blacks." - Mick Jagger

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Taurus

Be careful if you're supposed to be saving money, because it's likely to fly through your fingers in no time at all today. You're open to all sorts of delicious impulses now, such as splashing out your hard- earned cash on little treats or big purchases. Indulgence is the key here, and you'll also want to push the boat out if you're going to a restaurant for a meal. You'll work your way through the menu, regardless of the cost.
