I am Brendan's brother, Regan. I must say that when Encino Man had it's theatrical release in 1991, it was the last happy time that I can remember with our parents, Peter and Carol.(By the way, for some stupid reason wikipedia has our mom's name wrong) I am Brendan's brother Regan. Brendan was not in Seattle at Encino Man's release party which was attended by parents and brothers back in the day. Nevertheless, it was a festive event in which a mic stand was set up at front of the theatre and a curtain was drawn in front of the movie screen. Before show time, early arriving movie-goers got to take turns stepping up to the mic and doing their impressions of Pauly Shore, buuuuuuuudddeeee!!! They talked of fresh nugs, weazing the jew.....uice, grind-age, 5 maj-or food groups, etc. Oh yeah, and I almost forgot about fund-age.
The world was different for a while yet never the same since...between Brendan and me. I do remember when Brendan was a boy and I used to say to him "C'mo, bro', let's go to the show" whenever we'd be going to the movies together. Well that hasn't happenened in more than a decade. And, in fact when I tried it again in Seattle in 1992, on the way to the Seattle International Film Festival's release of "TWENTY BUCKS" Brendan treated his own brother like the paparazzi and punched me in the side of the head. And it hurted so good. Well, gotta go so I can google Krav Maga and try to learn it thru the internet. Never know when I'll need my own self-defense. In case anyone else cares, I love my brother Brendan yet he hasn't talked to me in a decade. I'll give my number in Nova Scotia in case Brendan reads this, which I doubt, but a paparazzi might call first. Here goes nothing:(oh, woops, I tried, but topix doesn't condone posting phone numbers). Anyway, in case Brendan cares about my side of the story and he's a genuine Phil Collins fan (composer of all that Tarzan movie music and another album entitled "Both Sides"(of the Story), he needs to know that the AMBUSH that I got by the paparazzi in LA in 1999 was NOT my fault. That was a move initiated by one free-lance reporter named Darryl Wroebel (I later managed to make him to hate me, so he'd mind his own beez-wax. I thought it a good defense move, to make him NOT interested in neither myself nor Brendan...(seemed I could NOT have one without the other in his mind) and shortly afterward, he resigned from his job with American Media)...and I did my best to give him a neutral story that would just grab headlines and media attention to your film. Initial weekend box office of $47 Million would say it was a success. It worked, and what is more the then headline "MUMMY STAR'S BROTHER HOMELESS on HOLLYWOOD BOULEVARD" turned out to be complete bullshit. By the time it was printed, I had gotten shelter at Orange Drive Manor and I had also gotten a job as an usher at the El Capitan theatre. I was there employed by Disney for the opening of "Tarzan". One other usher said Brendan was there the same night but got lost in the crowd from re-uniting with his brother Regan. Intentional? Only Brendan knows if he got lost in the madding crowd of the El Cap's 1,000-person capacity on that June night in summer of 1999. Anyway the "WEDGE OF ESTRANGEMENT" story seems to be the unkind lasting story that the paparazzi have about Regan Fraser, Brendan's brother. I don't know, but the best thing to do is try to let it be forgotten and let the worled know that I still get work in other movies as an extra, in case they wonder why I am not an actor, too. I am, only I just get uncredited bit parts like in a film currently in theatres entitled "Poor Boys Game."
