Hi Folks,
I'm hoping that someone could help me with a little information for a fan fic I am currently writing. What would be the nearest venue where BonJovi would be most likely to perform in late January. I know it is summertime there for you guys in January, but I'm wondering if the Melbourne Convention Center might be a possibility? If not, what else would be likely and where is it located? Thanks for any info folks can provide!

Hey!
Yes, they could. Although, only a small audience would be able to attend due to seating limitations. I think capacity is around 2,000. Crown Towers would also provide the same intimate atmosphere.

But, if you want a realistic venue, then they'd need to perform at venues like The MCG (100,000 seats, but stage setup would reduce to approx 80,000) Telstra Dome (56,000/ stage reduce to 40,000), or Melbourne's Sidney Myer Music Bowl where they performed this year (30,000), and lastly, the Rod Laver Arena (14,000) which would be good for real Bon Jovi fans only. All are located close to Melbourne CBD.

Then, there's always my lounge room. ;)

Actually, another question...any ideas on how one would get from Melbourne to Phillip Island? What sort of options exist for going over by boat? I saw it said it's about a 90 minute trip? Is that correct? Do they have ferries that leave regularly or do you pay someone to take you across on a private boat? Thanks a million!

Please feel free, I love to get feedback, but I'll warn you...it may very well be the longest Fan Fic in history. It's at 230+ chapters and still going strong and the Aussie chapters aren't even written yet (I had a nightmare of a time negotiating the time changes-I can be such an idiot when it comes to something so simple, LOL). But if you like romance and adventure, I hope that you'll enjoy it! Here's the link:
http://opestersworld.blogspot.com/2008/02/sau...

That will start you at chapter 1 and you can scroll through chapter by chapter by clicking the "newer post" link at the bottom. It's a lot easier that way (I think) than trying to read these things backwards the way that Blogger sets it up! Hope you come visit! And thanks again for such outstanding info already!

Oh, sorry, I missed this question somehow.
Driving from Melb would take 2 hours. Phillip Island itself is connected to the mainland by a bridge so you can drive all the way there.

A Boat or Yacht from Melbourne would take approx 90 mins. I think you're right about that.

There are ferries from Mornington Peninsula, but that would still involve driving to that location first.
They probably do a return trip every 3 hours from 9am - 9pm. I'm just guessing but that seems realistic.
You can also hire a boat or get a helicopter ride once you're at Phillip Island for something to do. Random suggestion ;) lol!

I just finished the chapter and I have to say that I am so longing to visit Australia. What a magical place, I am simply speechless the more that I research. Have you visited Phillip Island?

Aaaww, sweetie, I would love to share, but it would ruin the surprise-I've already said enough by mentioning that we go there! There are a lot of chapters yet to post before then, LOL! Miss your comments on the Blog!

I am sooooo envious, honestly! I can't give away too much, but make absolutely sure that you take an excusion to Phillip Island. You can travel by bridge or by boat and maybe even helicopter, but I wouldn't miss that place for the world now! You can always do a google search to see what's available and book early!

I'm sorry!! I've been faithfully reading and very appreciative, especially this week. School has just been overwhelming and I'm finding it hard to form coherent thoughts! Ever have those weeks where you are winning the battles but losing the war?*sigh*

Thank God for FF and you tube. Escaping from reality has been a real sanity saver these last few months!!!

I've been there and I do understand! In grad school there were days when I just didn't want to think about anything. I remember saying "Don't ask me what I want for dinner-it's too hard to make any more decisions!" LOL, I still have some days like that with work! No problem, babe, glad you're still enjoying the story!

My uncle and his family are planning things already. My cousin works for a TV station and I am spending 3 days with her. I am taking my laptop with me so hopefully be able to report on what I am doing.

Really? Wow! How long are you staying?
Of course I recommend the Melbourne Museum & iMax. And The Zoo. If you like amusement parks, then Luna Park is good, but it's no Disneyland lol!! Definitely go for a walk along St Kilda beach (wear shoes/thongs).

Oh, that'll be fun. Is she going to take you around the TV studio?
