minxy....i have a feeling you have not ever breastfed before. as a sibling of 4 and a few kids of my own, there is no issue with the other kids. they know mom is feeding the baby, end of story. there are no issues.....sorry to burst your bubble....

Playing devil's advocate here. I understood what minxy was saying as: That Jesse as a teenage boy now would be embarrassed by a picture of himself when he was a baby being breastfed by his mother being public. You know how teenagers are about these kind of things. They roll their eyes and say "Oh mom". I don't think she met Jesse being embarrassed in regards to his mom breastfeeding his siblings. JMO.

Actually, I think that's a point! I know my daughther was mortified when all her teenage friends came round to ours for a party and all her baby pictures were out on display - I've had to promise to put them away next time - and there weren't any of my nursing her!!

i see three things here....1. the breastfeeding issus is no problem. if you taught your children that it is no big thing, they will think the same. 2. Dot's privacy was invaded and i'm sure no one asked her permission if it was ok to take the pic or not. 3. yeah, as a teen things start to get weird. it may be a pic that Jesse wants to forget, maybe he does not care one way or the other. it really depends on the parent influence and what Jesse thinks. its just one of those things when you are celebrity status that is not sacred....no more privacy. its one of those things i'm thankful i do not have to worry about.

if Minxy's point was of his opinion as a teen and the embarrassment, i can see that too. i forgot that angle and i will be there shortly as well with my kids... ;)

My best bet would be..Troll's dont breast feed...they eat their young..But one escaped..grrr and now we have to deal with it

Calijovigirl I agree with all three of your points. It think it is appalling that someone took such a personal picture without getting permission first. That is really an invasion of Dot's privacy. Even if they were on a public beach, there was still an expectation of privacy when she covered herself up to be discrete.

Jesse probably is embarrassed but you show me a teen who isn't embarrassed about baby pics. I was mortified when my gram got those horrid pics out to show my fiancee. It is a part of growing up and making memories to cherish (no pun intended). I am now almost 40 and love that memory and intend to do the same thing to my children.

Another point: he was a baby and unless he or parents point out his identity--no one knows it was him...

The guilt should be on the jerk that took/published the photo there by violating her privacy!

I cannot tell you just how UNCOOL I am in the eyes of my teenage daughters!! This is normal, I know, and I've heard Jon comment on it too - but it's a bit wearing at times! I love them dearly and they are wonderful girls, funny, clever and great company (in the company of others at the moment). I was a wayward teen myself, and I have a lot to be thankful for - it could all be a lot worse. One day we'll all look back and laugh about those slammed doors and moody moments! I'm gritting my teeth in the meantime!

I feel your pain Londongirl!!! My son is almost 15 and just today he told me he was going to make a list of things I was not allowed to say anymore. He tells me I'm not cool and I just tell him that I grew up in the 70's and I invented cool.LOL If he had any idea of the stuff I did back then, OMG I can't even think about it. Anyway, I told my husband that I would rather have ten toddler boys than one teenager and I mean that! I guess as long as they keep making Crown Royal I'll be okay.LOL

LOL!!! When I was about nineteen, I walked into my mom's kitchen and she was singing Rod Stewart's "If you want my body" while cooking dinner. I told her that she was NEVER allowed to sing that song again...then my boyfriend and I (now husband)sat down and came up with a list of songs we NEVER wanted our mother's to sing. It was pretty funny...(I want your sex, Baby got back, Let's get it on...the list went on and on...it was hysterical!) My point is, ALL kids are embarrassed by their parents at some point, even if your old man is JBJ and your mama is Dot.

Yes, doesn't matter who your parents are - they are going to be hideously embarrassing for sure!

Your feeling is wrong. I have no problem with women breastfeeding their babies in public, but adolescent boys like Jesse would find a photo in the public domain, of their Mum breastfeeding embarrassing. I can't believe I am having to spell this out!

Jesse being 13 .. if he is googling 'boobs' it is not his Mom's that he will be looking at.....
