Bon Jovi backing Obama?
Out of curiosity, who exactly would WANT to vote the way some guy who is famous for singing, boozing and whoring votes?
I get the Obama angle. Soak the idiot millionaires who got their money without working for it or knowing its value. No self respecting working man would donate money to a liberal, so go for the rich stupid people.
Oh my goodness what a nasty statement to make. And i believe these guys do work hard not to mention what all they have to go through being in the spotlight and pleasing everyone , while still having families to take care of and spend time with. They do more for charity and the gift of their music. What do you give back may i ask ?

Hey 'King of Swing', I see you are from the UK. You brits need to focus more on flossing and brushing regularly and less on American politics. No matter what some eurotrash says or feels about Obama and Bon Jovi, even the least of the US citizenry can vote...and you Can't.

McCain & Palin will be in my fair city tomorrow, just 2.5 miles down the road from me. Unfortunately, I can't go.

Bon Jovi has every right to squander his money. I never had issue with that. But lets face it, if this goofball had no money, Obama would thing he was some gun luvin, religion hick and would not even give him the time.

It always amazes me how politics can bring out the nastiness in people. Just because you don't like someones politics doesn't mean you have to attack them personally. I admire anyone who will take a stand for what they believe in (politics or other) even though it's not always what I would believe in.

Daito, you would be surprised how closely some of us in Aust. and the UK follow your elections even though, as you say, we can't vote in them. Let's face it, what happens in the US will given time effect us.

I agree with you on that one. I have been thinking that ever since he made the announcement before I even heard her speak.

I too feel McCain shot himself in the foot but Palin is a great speaker. Worth listening too in my opinion.

Yeah, I probably should listen a little more. I've been busy this week and not paid as much attention as I should have to the RNC. I did hear part of her speech the night they made the announcement that she was his running mate. My problem with Pallin is that she doesn't have much legislative or CEO experience for running a country if something happens to McCain, who is up there in years. I'm not saying I am an Obama fan. I am just weighing all the options. I vote for the person, not the party.

But doesn't Obama have only a few years experience. I'm from Illinois and we only learned of him a few years ago and he wants to lead our country...

I really wish Bon Jovi would check out ALL the facts on Obama before supporting him. I like Bon Jovi, but I'm very disappointed in him...
Could be damaging......

Oh please, I wouldn't waste $1 on anything for a politician, let alone $30k. I am quite sure that there is a better use for that kind of money than putting it in Barak Obama's election fund!!!! What in the hell are people thinking? Just shows you how screwed up this country is becoming. In fact, I think this whole election process is becoming absurd. Surely this is not what the founding fathers had in mind. Please don't get me wrong, I love this country and would never, ever want to live anywhere else. It just seems to me that some things have gone askew, that's all. JMO

That's what makes this country so great. Everyone can vote for whoever they feel is the better candidate. But I was given a piece of advice a long time ago and that was to never talk about politics or religion, it just gets you into arguments.

a) the trolls from the GOP, the far right wing storm troopers and the friends of Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly simply googled Jon Bon Jovi forum and found this place. They're here to post inflammatory insults, rarely based in fact or common sense (and clearly lacking intelligence, wit or simple internet-based online etiquette) and you're taking the bate. They're here to cause trouble. They have little else to do and they're winding you up and you're letting them.

b) Jon - if anyone has done ANY reading at all - has been a vocal supporter of the Democratic party since his very high profile support of Gore in 2000. And he's been very careful to not use his concert stage as a pulpit, has not shoved his personal political opinions down the throats of concertgoers who have paid to see a Bon Jovi show and not a political campaign PSA.

c) If you've typed that Jon Bon Jovi is a has-been, you're an ill-informed moron.

d) If you've used this forum to bash illegal immigrants, find another place to troll. You're entitled to your opinions but you're leaving shit-stained footprints behind so please, leave.

e) If you've come here to insult the British or Australian or anyone else who frequent this board, you're simply not welcome here.

e) American politics -- both parties, both sides of the aisle, needs reform, especially in fundraising but nothing is illegal and if you have the money you're entitled to spend it in whatever way you choose.

f) there is no performance. it's dinner and a meet and greet and while I personally can't imagine a time when I'd have that kind of money to spend on any one thing, if I DID have that kind of money and it was important to me (to support the DNC, not to have my picture taken next to Jon Bon's toilet) then it would be worth it to me.

g) Stop taking the bait -- these adolescent and hateful morons are out in full force all over message boards of any 'celebrities' who are known Democratic supporters...$20 they're leaving digital skidmarks all over websites for Bruce and Mellencamp and Oprah and anyone else that has the audacity to speak out and support a candidate, like any other American has the right to do.

h) We're one generation away from Mike Judge's prophecy of IDIOCRACY coming to pass if these moron's ability to type online is any indication. God help us all.

Yeah, I think you are right on that also. I guess the difference between the two is one is running for president and the other vice president. The chances of Pallin having to take over for McCain are low at best while Obama will be the president. Something more to think about.
