Oh honey, I'm so very sorry to hear this. I know how special our fur babies are to us. I don't have one now...had to put my 15 y/o kitty to sleep years ago & haven't wanted another pet since. They become like your children! Sending you tight ((((Jovi hugs)))))).

BonJayne, I'm really sorry to hear about your cat. I have a 10 year old dog and he holds just as special a place in my heart as my kids. I know that may sound weird, but it's true. He follows me around all day and won't go up to bed until I do. Even if it's 2am. I've had to put an animal down before and it's just gut wrenching. Try to remember all the good times you had with your baby and cry as much as you need to. I'm sending you a cyber hug also.

I'm so VERY sorry! That is so tough. We have a 14 year old dog that we got when he was 8 weeks old. The vet said that he is in his "sunset" time and unfortunately I agree. I know it won't be long and I am feeling your pain knowing how hard this will be for us.:-(

The people on this forum are so special to me!!! Thank-you for your wonderful replies and hugs. I knew people here would understand.
We have had to euthanize two cats previous to this one but the first two were no brainers. They could not have lasted much longer with their problems.(lung cancer and mega colon) This sweet guy had sun cancer on his nose. We had to make the decision as to when he had had enough. He was my pal for 16 years and always took things in stride, including my hugs and smooches. I miss them all. The are my "children" and they are in my heart forever! Please bear with me as I "hukor" ( LOL ) down to life without my buddy!

Jayne: Good to hear from you. It's a difficult thing and heart-breaking. It's already been a few years for my special one and have never replaced. Even today, I couldn't get thru your Rainbow Bridge - after all these years, still sensitive. You did the right thing, suffering is not the answer. So, my bud, wish I could minimize your grief and you always have us.

What a special poem! I'm bawling my eyes out as I'm typing this. I had to put down my 8 yr. old Beagle "Dave" 11 years ago. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. We had him before we had human kids so he was our first child. I was so distraught that I told them to cremate him, so now wherever we move he goes with us.

Thank-you both for sharing your special friends!!!! I didn't mean to make your cry since I have done enough for several people. The house is pretty quiet since, I gotta sneeze to keep my nose clear to breath, is gone. I don't think my other baby understands yet. How can she when I find it so tough?

Have been reading lots of posts to try and take my mind off things. Man there are a ton of unhappy, mean people on Topix. Glad my home is here. Even our nasty "girls" can be nice now and again. lol

Jayne: Like so many others on here, I've been there so I understand the pain you're going through. When you have an animal in your life you really learn what unconditional love is. They love you no matter what. All they ask in return is food, shelter and some love. They are so easily satisfied. I feel your pain, Hon. Please know that you have a safe place to grieve here. xoxoxo

<<<<<<< <just wondering why I'm letting my teenager drive me to the brink of madness. Sometimes you can talk to him and then the next moment watch out. He doen't have a foul mouth or anything, he can just be really disrespectful and moody sometimes. I feel like we have to walk on a freakin tight rope around him. Please tell me this ends someday!! Sigh!
