I remeber one day we all were talking about the seasoning on the crab fries. Someone said that you can get that seasoning in the store. I can't remeber the name of it. Someone even decribe the bottle it came in. If someone can tell me the name of the seasoning and maybe who it is put out by, I would appreciate it. I'm hoping I can get it here in NY

It's called "Old Bay" and it comes in a square yellow can with a big crab on the front... Get some Ore-Ida crinkle cut french fries from your freezer section and you are all set! No Chickies and Pete's required!

I am originally from Maryland and we don't often divulge our seafood secrets, but it is like JennTrip said, called Old Bay Seasoning and you can get it at most grocery stores in the seasoning section...usually on the bottom shelf. Now that you know all of the secrets to good seafood....put it on anything, it's delicious...crabs, shrimp, anything....yummy!

Cheez Whiz... no secret there... every cheese steak place in Philly has the Cheez Whiz people on speed dial for deliveries!(Though personally, I make my cheese steaks with genuine all American cheese and prefer the taste to Cheez Whiz... It depends on whether you want something that tastes awesome or is authentic Philly...(Not that authentic Philly tastes bad, but you get where I am going with this...) I throw a little Old Bay on my cheese steaks too and everybody LOVES them... now...if only I can nail down their lobster pizza recipe! LOL!

The Cheese isn't Cheez Whiz, the cheese they use is a lighter color.

They usually add a little milk to the mixture to make it creamier.... trust me on this one, it's Cheez Whiz.

We had the cheese fries... i dont think it's cheese whiz at all... Honestly, they were french fries with cheese sauce. Yeah, they tasted good, but i wouldn't "rave " over them... give me my Japanese food ANYTIME...

Old Bay Seasoning is very good but hard to find some places...hubby swears by it on the grill and when we were on vacation I forgot to pack it (bad, very bad) it wasn't available where we were...no one ever heard of it...hubby was distraught without it but got by :):)

It's available all over the east coast...(don't know about out west though) If anybody wants a can, email me and I can send one off... I like Old Bay, but personally, I like Tony Chachere's a little bit more... it's a tad saltier and I am a salt junkie... I LOVE C&P, but the crab fries I can take or leave... it's the lobster pizza that I die for! YUM-O!

Jenn

If you can't find the Old Bay seasoning with the spices/herbs, try looking in the seafood dept. That's where my market keeps it.

Well I finally had the crab fries at Chickie's and Pete's last night. They were good, but not as good as I expected. Now the roast pork sandwich that was really good!!!

No respectable Marylander would ever put Old Bay on fries...I just can't imagine it...try it on seafood...I think you'll have a different perspective on it...

Take a loaf of french or italian bread, slice it in half long ways and then butter both slices. Sprinkle a light coating of Old Bay then broil for a few minutes (your preference on time). My family adores it this way.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Pisces

Relationships are kind of shaky under this Lunar Cycle and you may even get the distinct impression you're heading for a major showdown with a certain someone. Although this feels like a crisis, don't let panic or desperation push you into decisions you would normally steer clear of. You may think you've reached the end of the road, but this isn't a good reason to go off the deep end and make drastic decisions. Proceed with caution!
