Bon Jovi and Family Members

I hope that this is not a personal question and against the rules. I was just wondering about siblings of the guys of the band. I know that Jon has two brothers and Richie is an only child but I was just wondering about David, Tico and Hugh. Do they have sisters/brothers.

Another question, if I am allowed. Are they Uncles? I discovered this interview that Jon did on the Rosie O'Donnell show back in 1997 and Jon points out his nephew Doug from the crowd. My friend told me that Doug was from Dorothea's side because at that time, Jon's two brothers had no children. Is that still the case? Is Jon an Uncle from his brother's side?

Just one more questin and I will be done but Dorothea's family. How many brothers or sisters does she have?

If this is not allowed, please disregard these questions and I will understand. I am still learning my way and don't want to start off going against the rules.

I know Matt has at least one but that's all I know.

David has one sister Michelle. Tico is an only child and I do not know about Hugh. Dorothea is the youngest of three sisters.

Matt has got three children now. He is married with two children and has a daughter from a previous relationship. Tony to my understanding has no children and is currently single. He was married.

I remember that interview that you are talking about. Yes, Doug is from Dorothea's sister. When the Soul won in 2008, you do see Doug in the stands with the rest of the family. No longer that little boy. For me, that always was a nice thing to do from Jon. How he pointed him out in the audience and said my nephew Doug. He didn't distinguish between his family or Dorothea's family. He didn't feel the need to point out, that it was from Dorothea's side. Same thing to him. Dorothea has three older sisters, she is the youngest.

Rumor has it that besides Michelle, David has a few half siblings.

His father supposedly re married when Dave was still in school. I've met someone who clained that David's half brother was his college room mate... He also had some unkind words about Michelle and April... I'm not so sure I wanna believe him.

If you don't mind me asking, what did they say? And Did they say anything else to make you not believe them. Maybe they were just trying to impress you by saying that they knew a family member of a rockstar, especially one that you are a very big fan of. I also didn't think any of the guys parents were divorced. I mean I know that Tico's dad left when he was a kid, but Adam and Joan were still married up until Adam died, and Carol and John are still married, so I was pretty sure it was the same with David's parents: Florence right, and his dad was Ed?

I always had the impression that David's parents were always married until he passed away. Were they divorced? Michelle to my understanding is David's sister, not half. I have heard rumours over the years regarding April but as I have no way of knowing if they are true, I will not say them here.

I read somewhere, few years ago, that Ed and Florence Rashbaum got divorced shortly after David was born. Yes, Michelle is his older sister. And as far as rumors go... they were not pleasant, so I will not spread them in an open forum. I admire David, and the rest of the guys from the band, and take all the rumors with a grain of salt.
As far as the guy trying to impress me... he had no idea I was a "curl girl" ROFLMAO!

Oh ok, yeah that's probably a good idea! Yeah, what Susan said, I always thought his parents were married until his dad died!

David's parents were divorced years ago. David started thanking Ed & Janet in the record liner notes back on KTF and continued doing so right up until HAND, the record after his father passed away. On LH & The Circle, he has continued to thank his Dad, but no mention of Janet.

I NEVER knew that about David parents!! I always had the impression that only Tico came from a broken home and the other three members parents had all been married together. So now to know that it's only Jon and Richie's parents who have stayed married all those years (in Richie's case had until his Dad passed away) I am surprised by this!! Thanks for the information. So I take it that Janet was David's step-mother?

Need to clarify...I've just always "assumed" that David's parents divorced and his father remarried Janet. I've never seen anything anywhere where David actually confirmed this...remarriage. It could be that his parents separated and Ed & Janet were together, but never married.

Thank you mgemay and jbjpeaches for this information. Don't know why but I never knew that David's parents were divorced and that even Ed had remarried. So is Michelle than his half-sister? Interesting.

So if I am correct Jon's parents are still married. Richie's parents were married until his Dad's passing and Tico and David's parents were divorced?

Back to part of the original question but is David an uncle? I know for Jon but what about him?

Michelle is David's older sister (same parents) and as far as I know she has no kids. So if David is an uncle, it would be to his half sibling's kids. I don't know much about April, but technically, if she has brothers and or sisters with children, they'd be David's nieces and or nephews too!

Thanks for the information regarding Michelle. April and David are now divorced and so Lexi's family would be more like David's nephew and nieces. They would still be cousins definitely to David's cousins but no more related to David.

What's with all the apologies? Ask what you like, no one on here is better than anyone else. Some like to think they are however, but they are just bored with too much time on their hands.

Not sure of the legal aspects, but for me, you never divorce your in-law family only your spouse!!:-)

My mother-in-law is still my mother-in-law even though I have not been married to her son for years now...but I do know that some families end relationships once a divorce takes place, possibly more often if there are not children involved.
