Thanks Sun! I'm a fan of John Francis too! You certainly keep me busy with new chapters to read!<quoted text>
Sheena you are so right! Opester is a great writer! And lucky us there is Hathor out there and TaraLeigh and a few more! Yippee!

Just have to jump in again here. I want to say a huge thanks to all who are giving us likes and dislikes as far as fan fiction. I've read every one and will use so many to try to make my story better. I think we are all romantics at heart who THEN want really hot sex!
Please keep the posts coming, even a little bit of info is better than none for those of us who write. And, again, THANKS! |

Hi I like all the fan fics except the ones where every minute Jon was having sex. I don't know anyone who can keep going one after the other. Don't get me wrong, it's appealing but it doesn't seem like reality.

Hey Hilly - That's the fun part of writing and the pure "fiction" of it, we can make it all up and do whatever comes to our wicked imaginations. There are of course some real elements, but the main thing is while a basis in reality is good, it's NOT real, so if we want him to do it ten times in one day, that's okay. Hope that helps answer your question -#1 it's fun and #2 it's fiction! |

Opester - Ya just slayed me with your last chapter and I KNOW you know the one I mean! Whew, talk about some fun - can't wait til my hubby gets home from Vegas! The man may need CPR, which I will of course provide! ROFLMAO!!! Love ya, babe! Sun |
I agree with you, I dont think any man can get it up four times in a night, like one I recently read, LMAO. Another personal thing is point of view, I find it harder to read stories from "I" point of view unless I wrote it, but thats just my own hang up lol. |

Okay, have to jump in here. Sure, not all men are the same, but the truth is some CAN do that and they aren't 18 either. If my 50 yr old husband can manage 4 times in a 10 hour period (without medication help either) then surely our fantasy Jon or Richie or whoever can too! I know probably too much information, but remember ladies a lot of this fiction comes from some FACT! |

I'm so glad you said something here, Cammy! I knew I was lucky with my boyfriend, but I was beginning to think I was the only one. I'm Jon's age and my boyfriends 3 years beyond me and we do test out most of my chapters, LOL!(That's why I love writing that damn story) Now if only I could test out some of those shopping chapters next... |

I'm just a reader not a writer of ff. If its a biscuit from the "I" point of view I like it but I don't want to read a long story from the "I" point of view. "4 times in a night" does seem unrealistic but "some older men" are capable! LOL |

I do a mix of first- and third-person chapters in many of my stories. In some cases, simply describing the scenes is sufficient, in others, i want the reader to FEEL what the character is saying or doing, and for me at least, if it's in first person, that's easier to do.
And girls, I do the same thing -- most if not all of the sex in my stories come from our own beroom antics. The "Homecoming" biscuit sex was my favorite night of married life so far ;) |

Oh hon, please don't call my hubby an "older man", LOL, he'll then try to prove he isn't and I'm not sure I'll survive!(Okay, big tease here, but couldn't resist! Love ya!) |

LOL Opester! Glad I'm not the only one who "tests" out their chapters to make sure things are possible. Perhaps that's why I have such support from husband in writing story? And yeah, I'd take the shopping "try-outs" too (if only!) BTW, was thinking about your story "The Sauna" the other day and I realized that one of the things I like about it so much was the different slant you gave with regard to the Wicca angle. First of all, it's original and that's always good in fan fiction. Second, I really learned so much about a spiritual viewpoint I didn't know about. Third, your writing is a STORY and adding in a unique angle about Jon was and is really interesting to me. I love to read and love to learn about new things so I know I appreciate that angle in your story. I mean, is it really SO different than the ones where Jon is a vampire? Actually, yes, since Wicca is real and I've yet to meet a vampire, but if one is plausible and enjoyable, then surely we as readers should be open to many different ideas? You never have your leading lady come off as preachy or trying to "convert" Jon, just as saying in essence "here it is, see if it's for you". LOL - all religions should be so tolerant! I've also read the vampire Jon one and like a movie it required the "willing suspension of disbelief", but that's what all good books/movies/stories do. It's what makes up want to read and get involved in that "other world". Sorry to ramble here, but I really have been doing some thinking about the fan fics and just wanted to let you know what I thought. Hugs, Sun |

I really have enjoyed most of the fan fics I have read so far. There have been days where I am at my computer way too long catching up! It becomes sort of addicting. I think most of the stories are pretty well written. I have to agree with other posters that the typo's can be a bit irritating, but it's mostly easy understand the meaning. I have read a few that are written partially in the 1st person and 3rd. It's not a smooth easy read when it jumps around like that.
I do not find too much sex offensive in any way. I have posted about this before and quite honestly, things in the bedroom at my house haven't been this steamy in years...so a BIG THANK YOU to all you writers for that!LOL! Keep up the good work! There are many of us on here that are "hooked." I also think it's really neat that so much of what's written out there has inspired people to try writing their own. |

Gotta say I'm with ya here on your observations about why our significant others put up with our writing so much-mine acknowledges that he often reaps the benefits and he enjoys testing out my ideas-I call him my technical consultant, ROTFLMAO! Thank you so much for your kind (and faithful) comments here and on my Blog about The Sauna. I am glad that there are folks like you who find the Wicca aspect appealing and interesting and I'm grateful for the folks I've met who've asked to learn more about it or appreciate the spirituality. I think at least a piece of ourselves comes through in our heroines and certainly our own life experiences. it's hard to write about something you've never experienced and I think it shows when people try to do that. I've always heard that you should write what you know, so I try to do that for the most part. Again, I thank you for your kind and thoughful comments as sometimes I get discouraged even though I know what I write isn't "mainstream", but then neither are we!!!!!!! |

I have a question for you, the writers:
How much of you do you give to your characters?? In my story she has the same profession and she´s alot like me... i wonder if that happens in your stories too. |

Speaking of TaraLeigh has anyone heard anything from her? I am reading two of her stories and am dying to get another chapter. She left an authors note saying someone in her immediate family died and it's been a few weeks since I heard anything. Just thought maybe someone would know if she was ok. TaraLeigh... if you are reading this I hope everything is ok and know that I'm thinking of you and saying prayers. Hugs! |
Good question, I give alot to my characters, not to say that they are like me, my heroine does something that I have never done, but maybe something I wish I had done, to me sometimes FF is a way to fufil those wish you had dones, what you want to be like, but apart from that, more what you think your Jon/Richie is attracted to as well, qualities you think they would be attracted to. Great question though as that made me think. |
