$400 billion what a joke! Even Bill Gates and Warren Buffet don't have that much money. What a joke that guy is. Songs are not alike. The courts must cringe when they get some of these cases.

1 But way to milk his 15 minutes of fame with inane accusations and an absurd $400 billion lawsuit. He's getting off on the publicity -- really, did you know about this guy? this song? if he wasn't out badmouthing Jon Bon Jovi? Would he have gotten the coverage in local papers and magazines and now online if he hadn't gone this route? The song was written by Jon and Richie and Billy Falcon in and about their regular visits to Nashville. It has NOTHING to do with baseball!! That MLB used the song is a marketing campaign. Poor schlub in Boston is just howling at the moon and chasing windmills... |

I agree. Kind of reminds me of the Mijovi drink thing last year. That guy sold alot of drink after it all went public and Jons name was thrown around. He's probably retired to Florida or something...lol

I bet they're hoping our boys will just give them a settlement since going through the legal system these days is very costly.

I was referring to him, because he was the singer of the song...not to withhold credit where credit was due... I refer to "No Doubt" songs as Gwen Stefani...I refer to "Smashing Pumpkins" as Billy Corgin...REM is simply Michael Stipe... it's a "me" thing... I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone by referring to a song a "Jon's". If anyone read the article that I posted, it was clear that the song was written by Jon, Richie and Billy Falcon. I didn't see any need to reiterate what the article spelled out loudly and clearly. If I had know that it would draw your ire, clearly, I would have worded it differently... |

I can't imagine this is true. If there is any similarity, it has to be a coincidence. Why would you intentionally 'steal' something you know millions of people, including the alleged author, are going to hear?
That's something a 'stupid criminal' would do. |

How ironic ... sitting here watching TBS and guess what song came one? MLB used it last year too with different video. THAT's why the dude is looking for $400B -- the exposure the song has received.
But why wait until NOW to sue when it came out so long ago ... did it take THAT long to find a lawyer who would take the case? |

Oh Jenn, you really didn't even need to waste the energy to type all that out. We all 'get it' and know. Well, almost all of us 'get it' anyway! LOL!! Don't give it another thought. |

Is that guy nuts, Jon and Richie can write their own songs. If he helps other peoples I would think if he heard a great song written by an UNKNOWN he would have bought it from them and given where credit is due. Sounds like this guy is using the court system for extorition |

He probably has been searching for a sleeze bag attorney who would take this ridiculous case, that's why he didn't come forward sooner! |

Actually, the guy made the claim long ago. He went first to the American Song Writers Association, who often settle such disputes. ASA laughed the guy out of their office, said that he had no claim. Often when a little and unknown song writer has a claim, it is usually against superstars who can afford high price lawyers to defend themselves... a "David and Goliath" situation...and the songwriters assoc, if the writer's claim is more probable than not, will help mediate a deal, if the artist who "stole" the song is found "guilty" by their standards. In this case, the guy went to the Association and they concluded that not only were the songs different, but there was NO WAY Jon, Rich or Billy could have heard this guy's song before writing their own. How the fellow found a lawyer stupid enough to take his case after the Songwriter's handed down their decision is beyond me. Guess PT Barnum was correct, there IS a sucker born every minute. I wonder how quickly the suit will be dismissed...

He was prob trying to negotiate something off the books, out of the public eye. Thinking that BJ would settle something out of court so as not to mudsling their names in public or the courts. Rather like blackmail - pay me and I'll shut up. It's done all the time and there those celebs that pay to shut that person up. Now since that didn't factor in, this loser will owe lots to his attorney. |
