The ugly threads on this forum about Dorothea Bon Jovi that I have read reminds me of another great rock and roll spouse who was reviled and misunderstood in the name of jealousy and envy by the fans and in the end at her death was appreciated and revered for her humanitarianism, compassion, and loving heart.
Linda McCartney anyone???? When all is said and done, all who criticize and say ugly things now about Dorothea Bon Jovi will one day see the true person that Dorothea Bon Jovi is through the eyes of a husband who loved her and adored her and revered her for all that she is, and we will never know except through his eyes what she meant to him and his family. Just as in the end, we all saw through the eyes of the great Paul McCartney for his wife, Linda. |

I read some stuff under Jon and Conan O'Brien and some were defending and some were criticizing. It just seemed like it needed a voice of reason.

Oh Boy...I agree with everything you said there!!I personally think Dot is a beautiful woman...But more importantly is the fact that Jon does...No one will ever see her through his eyes...SO why bash her? I just dont get it......I felt aweful for Paul when Linda died...I bet his world came to a screeching halt then.. SHe was Unreplacable |
That is how I feel about Dorothea. A strong and amazing woman, as seen through Jon's eyes. You HAVE to admire and respect her. The life they lead with Jon being gone all the time cannot be easy and to have the relationship that they have with marriage for 19 years (10 years together before that) is amazing and should instill inspiration for the rest of us to find and maintain that kind of a relationship. I am sure Sir Paul's world did come to a screeching halt. They were together 30 years and only spent one night apart in all those years. I am sure he envisioned himself (as every spouse does) of being the first to go and couldn't imagine life without her. Unfortunately, I think he found out how irreplaceable she is now that he is going through this awful divorce.(Not criticizing Heather Mills, just a fact to say that she is not Linda, she is Heather, and you cannot compare the two.) Grief and loneliness sure can take you to places you never expected to be. I see that in my own family at the moment with my brother. I am sure Sir Paul never thought he would be going through a divorce at this stage in his life either. |

What can I say about Dot? Well, let's see. In an interview that Jon did one time, he said "I am told I have amazing children, and I have my wife to thank for that." Since when is motherhood and raising children and being a supportive spouse not something to admire and respect and not a "job" worth mentioning or having. Also it takes a strong person to raise children with a "part-time father", as Jon Bon Jovi has described himself in the same interview. Many many times, I have heard Jon refer to and even quote his wife in interviews and the admiration and respect for his wife's intelligence and wisdom is amazing. Yes, she is a black belt in karate and has a Dojo. It tells me that she is disciplined, smart, and strong both mentally and physically. That is probably why she is such as amazing mother and wife, and as a life partner Jon said, "I wouldn't trade her for anything." So, if you want to know Dot and what she has done, listen to Jon and watch his face light up and the respect in his voice when he talks about her. What she has done is create a relationship with her husband that is enviable. By the way, I have seen her sir name spelled both ways and it matters only to your how I spell it. Either way, she is Jon Bon Jovi's wife. |

You are right, YOU do not have to admire and respect her, but I choose to, and that is my choice. As far as a closeted life, you don't know that and neither do I, so how can anyone comment. Furthermore, if you cannot see or hear Jon's admiration and respect for her when he talks of her, then I feel sorry for you because you are hearing only what you want to hear. I see how strong and amazing she is by listening to Jon and what he says and how he says it. Obviously, it is not within you to do the same, so this conversation is over, and I will just say how sorry I am that you cannot see what I see because you are missing out on my point. I think you choose to argue because you want everyone to come around to your way of thinking. When you learn to respect other peoples opinions and ideas then you will be a good conversationalist and not so argumentative and judgmental. |

Sugar UK. You seem to be a very bitter and sad person.
Why are you constantly bashing Dorothea? What has she done to you? Getting the man you'll never get? Jon loves her and has 4 children with her and lives with her. You don't need to admire her. But if you respect Jon you should respect his life and love. And you should respect her. |
|
Thank you Danny. I agree, Respect Jon, respect his life and love, and respect her!! Well, said. |

Do you know the best humanitarians are people you never hear of!.
How do we know what Dot does? Perhaps she just doesent have a camera and reporter following her tracks everyday! Like Angelena Jolie does?. Perhaps she does sit on her bum all day and has Nannies looking after her kids. The thing is that WE DONT KNOW!!!. Jon Bon jovi likes to keep his family private. From what I see of Dot, she is a women to be admired. Jon thinks she is bloody fantastic and considering he could have ANY women in the world it says a lot that he is with her still after 25 years. I remember seeing in a interview Jon saying that his wife would happily live in a shed with the kids. I think a person who is totally un materilistic says alot. You never see her walking around with a different designer dress on every time she goes to a event. Or see her dripping in gold or jewels. She obviously understands that because you HAVE money to buy whatever you want, does not mean you have to. She also has not booked in to plastic surgeon to have her face re arranged, she is the same women Jon fell in love with in high school all those years ago. That shows heaps of self confidence, something else to be admired. Jon admits she has has put up with his infidelities in the early years. You could either call her a fool or say that there love is strong enough to survive that. Once again WE DONT KNOW. Do you really think Jon would be with a person who is lazy? Jons such a slave driver to himself that I cant see him respecting anyone who does not stay busy. I think you would find that DOt is probably involved with may charities ect. We simply dont know about it. |

I thinks Dot is wonderful. It's not easy to be a rockstar's wife and raise 4 kids. She seems awesome to me.

The ISP location says Hicksville, which sounds like something out of "Green Acres", lol. Hicksville is on Long Island, NY. I do not live there, i live about an hour and a half north of NY City. |

I totally agree! |
Even if you lived in Green Acres that would be cool. Someones got to keep the country fed and clothed. I always thought it would be neat to visit or maybe even live in NYC, but that will never happen for me. I guess I will live vicariously through others on that one. |
