These guys would do anything for each other that's for sure. That kind of friendship is so rare that you need to protect it and they do.

Don't remember anyone back then that Richie was really crazy about. There were always girls but he seemed to party more that anything in the 80's.

What about Ally Sheedy?

Maybe what this "lehua" person was referring to was that he wrote it with Lehua Reid in mind. Even if he did, I still think he wrote it about a few women in mind since like iloverichie said, Richie was very much into the party seen and groupies back in the 80s.

Ally Sheedy blames Richie for the drug problems she had in the past. I think on one thread I read that she didn't care if he was dead or not. It said that she says he practically shoved the cocaine up her nose. So, I don't think that she's the one he would write anything about.

After the huge success of Slippery When Wet, there was a lot of pressure on the guys for next recording to be as good if not better. Jon and Richie went home (Jersey) and wrote probably 25-30 songs together,and a couple with Desmond Child. Obviously all songs didn't make it, but one that Richie wrote after a huge fight with then girlfriend was accepted. Jon did some minor adjustments and added the line, "Didn't mean to miss your birthday Baby" Anyway, it's a great song and that's all that really matters right?

Yeah, it was in the late 80s...after Cher I think...I had even forgotten that he dated Cher and yet I can now remember her talking about Richie all of the time...boy, that was long ago...yeah, Ally Sheedy...I guess she partied a lot with him on tour and like I said, if you read anything about her, she blames him for her drug addictions. From what I remember she was part of that whole hollywood party scene in the 80's. She was a brat packer. They all partied heavily back then. I doubt if touring was any different than her normal life. She seems a little too angry for that being 20 years ago. Prob. didn't like being dumped??

If someone allows another to force drugs on them, they have real issues to deal with in themselves. People choose to do drugs and they choose who they go out with and they choose their lifestyle.

On one of the threads I read, the post said that she claims he forced coke up her nose...and that same post said that she didn't care if he was dead or not...I don't know, that's pretty harsh, but you never know...

Only they know what happened but people who abuse drugs are not behaving the way they would if they were clean and sober. Richie was pretty heavy into that scene so who knows.
