I think Drew is a great fit. He's definitely the right man for the job. Judging by the audience's reaction I believe they are also in agreement.

I think Drew Carey really stinks it up. He is a lousy host and although I am not a HUGE Price is Right fan/watcher, I do watch it on my days off just for a little entertainment. Drew can't cut the mustard. I think they would have been off with John O'Hurley or Richard Karn. I also don't think that the geriatric crowd will care for him either and those are its main audience.
Hey Price is Right execs - PLEASE GET RID OF DREW!

He has definitely improved from Week 1 to Week 2. I never was sold on either John O'Hurley or Richard Karn. I never thought either of them did a good job with Family Feud, although both were better than Louie Anderson. Drew's hook is being personable. That'll keep the audiences coming. Bob was far more professional but there was always a bit of a detachment to his mannerisms(similar to Johnny Carson)
He'll do fine; certainly no worse than anybody else would do replacing Bob Barker

Drew Carey is a train wreck on TPIR...he insults guests, forces jokes, makes many mistakes from lack of preparation and then says "fogive me I'm new" about 5 times a show.....very hard to watch. This is especially true when remembering just how good Bob Barker was.

I have been watching the price is right for thirty five years. I loved Bob Barker but he was slipping a little bit I don;t think he could hear too good. I am starting to really enjoy Drew Carey. I enjoy the show and laugh more than I ever did with Bob. I can't wait till the next show. It is like watching a comedy and game show. Drew is getting better every day he has a lot of games to get used to. Bob started out with 1/2 hr show. Give Drew a little bit of time I think he is going to be great.

I think Drew is doing a great job. I have been watching the show my entire life and I really enjoyed Bob. I thought Bob's exit meant that the show would slowly wither, but Drew's wit has saved the day. Good job CBS, you couldn't have found a better host. I actually TIVO it now, b/c I don't want to miss Drew.

Carey will be fine, let him settle in. It's hard to follow an institution, but I think he will be able to do it.

I don't think Drew Carey is doing a good job. He seems unfamiliar with the games, lets the contestants delay too much when making up their minds. It drags the show out. I can't hear his voice clearly..its's like he's always mumbling and lastly...I'm creepy out by his weird laugh. CBS..please get someone with a little more polish.

Can't stand him! He is sooo boring. His voice is so monotone. He does not have any expression in his voice and makes it sound like he just wants to get this job over and done! Get your hands out of your pockets Drew!

Bob was a professional. Drew insults the models - ok, it's a game show, not SNL. The must want to thump him one. He insults the prizes - yes, some items are goofy to say the least but they pay the CBS bills.

Although I have yet to see Drew host yet, please remember that change is always hard. Give it some time to get used to it.

The trouble is that when it comes to game shows, many producers are looking to those have done comedy for the most part.
Howie Mandel, Bob Saget, and Richard Karn, and yes Drew Carey have backgrounds in comedy. When the game show took a dry spell in the 80's and 90's it seems that the desire to be a game show host was gone. Then again Richard Dawson starred in the sitcom 'Hogan's Heroes' and Groucho Marx also had a comedy background.
I think Carey took the TPIR gig after he took the hosting job of 'Power of Ten.' He did not want the job before '10' came around.
You can't expect Carey to be just like Bob Barker. At least Carey pays his honor. The two ways that is done in the clear (I am sure their are other ways) is the 'pet population' reminder and the end of the program (allthough he Carey says it differently and differently each time), and the pricing game 'Barker's Bargain Bar' which still has the famous namesake. I am sure 'Barker's Markers' will still be called that.
I think Carey is just being himself, and is the same Carey that we knew from his self titled sitcom and even from 'Who's Line is it Anyway.' Again Carey should not be like Bob Barker. Barker likes to wine and put the contestants in their place if Barker seemed fit and for The Master it worked.
It seems that Carey will carry TPIR as it always has. Drew Carey is more of the straight man than Bob Barker allthough Barker did not go as far ala Jim Peary or the fictional Guy Smilley (Google for that one people) who even TV Guide gave a nod to in their list of top game show hosts of all time.
Can't wait for a contestant to call him 'Pig' and see how Drew reacts.

Drew is not good! He doesn't know the details of the games at all. He is inarticulate and it's painful to watch. I guess I just can't see anyone other than Bob Barker doing the show. I think TPIR execs. should have had a nationwide audition of people who have at least been watching the show for the last 30 years, and picked someone that way. I'm sure there's a guy out there who has as much class, professionalism and wit as Bob Barker. Sorry Drew, but you just don't cut it. HURRY UP AND PUT SOMEONE NEW ON BEFORE EVERYONE JUMPS SHIP.

Drew Carey comes off as more of a substitute teacher, a caretaker, than the actual star - let me count some of the ways: That sickening line about "happiest place on earth" or whatever he always says, straight out of Walt Dizzyland, his constant asking that idiot announcer [by his whole name yet!] what's next where Bob always announced HERE IS such and such up for bids, his constant Don't Go Away [which Bob NEVER had to say] before commercials [and the Welcome Back after each one], the ridiculously clumsy way he either halfway explains the games or doesn't describe them at all - e.g. Hole In One last week, in which he didn't mention the $500 bonus until the contestant got up to it [and won that!], his flipping the script on - among others - One Away about Oh Mighty Special Effects Person [jeez!] and worst of all, the WTF? stumbling fumbling and bumbling he does over the "spay/neuter" line [plus Thanks For Watching, another tiresome latter-day reference Bob never uttered]. The man is not an old-school showman - like some carny barker [!] in the olden days - and doesn't even TRY to incorporate the least bit of it into his dull act. Just yesterday I cringed to see that at one point when somebody came up on stage, a good deal of the audience weren't even applauding, little APPLAUSE light flashing notwithstanding - anybody ever see that in Bob's day? The retro pseudo-'50s set decoration blows too, along with the slightly reworked theme music [they sure didn't dare to screw around with THAT too tough]. The show is essentially running on autopilot, the enthusiasm of the contestants and the audience ["the crowd" in Careyspeak] keeping things moving instead of the MOC leading and directing it. I can understand him not wanting to appear as a pale [!] imitation of Bob - even though he is - but none better to learn from, and it ain't that difficult with CBS's vast archives to consult. Hell, all he had to do was study Bob's last season! I never thought I'd see the day when I didn't watch/record TPIR every day [aside from season reruns I already had on tape], but that's what has happened lately - my favorite game show [indeed only, until Cash Cab came along!] just doesn't have that same lift, that same energy that had me cheering for perfect strangers to win prizes. It's been a month already - sure and that don't compare to 35 years, but it appears that whatever He'll Find His Own Way aspect about Drew's lackluster substitution for a true legend has settled in. And unfortunately that leaves me wishing mightily that he'd pack up and get out!

I am sitting here right now listening to TPIR, since there is nothing else on tv, the first thing that is driving me nuts, is his incessant cackling! Next, is the way he tells a contestant about a game just like "ere's the game, you'll just have to figure out what's going on along the way,(ie, I hope you have seen this game b4, here we go.)" Ok, spin the wheel, without so much as the smallest bit of instructions, and just throws in bits of the info along the way as the wheel is spinning. Next, is the way he is constantly fumbling with his pockets....could they have picked a bigger flop??? Did they even audition him? or did he happen to be the only one to show up for it?? I cant see him hosting for very long, not much approval on the way he is doing his job.
