Thank you for a very nice article about one of the most prescious icons America got; namely Jon Provost! Mr. Provost spent 7 years of his childhood years entertaining America and the rest of the world! Not only did he lose a very escential part of his life - getting back to a "normal" life wasn´t the easiest thing he could imagine! But, to us he gave a wonderful gift of love and positive memories from a long gone time! Jon Provost meant a lot to me as a child in early ´60s with his role as "Timmy" in the Lassie Show! In between the Sunday episodes on Swedish TV, I always longed for the Lassie comics with him in his red checked shirt on the cover and, of course, Lassie! I tried to persuade my mum to get me a red checked shirt but there weren´t any around which saddend me a lot - I wanted to be "Timmy" myself! Anyway, with this fantastic book written by himself and his lovely wife and author; Laurie Jacobson (famous for her books on Hollywood!), this hidden world of a child actor´s life is revealed so skillfully, giving us so many details of this so mysterious world of television and the movie industry of Hollywood in the late ´50s, that you can´t let the book leave your hands, even for sleep! That says it all - get it!!! Even though, the book is about so much more than just the Lassie years (his life before and after that show as well), I must quote Jon Provost: "America - it´s Apple Pie, Baseball and Lassie"!!!

Excellent book; easy and engrossing read. I learned the background of the actor who played the role of one of my favorite TV characters of my youth from start to present. The use of interviews from others in the industry and surrounding Jon added very poignant perspective. The use of the time line structure allows the reader to do a time check with their own life which draws you further into the book. The pictures throughout were a delight to see. I highly recommend the book.

Thank you for this very nice article above Jon Provost and his autobiography "Timmy`s in the Well".I read the book and I love it.Starting as a child, I´m a fan of Jon Provost. "Lassie" was an very successful TV-series in Germany and Jon as "Timmy" is still a part of my childhood. So the book "Timmy`s in the Well" is a wonderful gift for all fans of Jon Provost and "Lassie".The lifestory, written by the popular actor of "Timmy Martin" in "Lassie" and his wife Laurie Jacobson, gives a impressive insight of the experiences which Jon Provost have had as a childstar and their negative accompaniments for his family and his own life. It`s a honesty autobiography, really worth to read.
