this story is just a sad and tragic account of the pain and misery of losing a beloved child at the hands of a woman who was trusted as a best friend. I pray for the family of this little angel. I pray that her mom's agony ceases and that God gives her the strength to go on in peace. So sad.

What a beautiful, precious face. Why is it so many children suffer such senseless and avoidable fate? I have no sympathy for incompetent 'caregivers'.

Last night I took a step to do something about the true tragedy in this case and so many others like it.

We have seen the reaction from many posters outside of the State of Florida. They are stunned by the fact that in most of these cases, low bail is set and these animals walk.

Please take a moment to write to Senator Mel Martinez and express your outrage and sadness there.

Let his last act in office be that he act as the voice of these children who have suffered. Florida needs a law to prevent bail in abuse cases. We have seen one such bond result in the murder of a child in Florida this year.

When a child under the age of 12 is murdered no bond. "Neglect" is not cutting it anymore.

Did you read Billy Bob Thornton's public comment about this? What a creep! To paraphrase "This child is from my first marriage. Before I became famous. So I don't really know her anymore. Oh, yeah, sorry about the dead baby." Makes me feel sorry for his daughter.

The loss of a child is the most horrific thing that can happen to a parent, my deepest sympathy to her mom and family. BUT - What does the fact that she is Billy Bob Thornton's daughter have to do with this? It is totally irrelevant.

You are right---creep does not even describe him honestly. Another example of what children, who have been neglected and ignored, by their fathers grow up to be too often. And of course he did continue to make children that he continues to neglect even after he became 'famous'. Just another example that money does not buy class, or get you out of the trash can of humans behaving poorly.

Agreed. However, Mel is a US Senator -he's not a member of the State Legislature.

I saw on TMZ where the babysitter's mom made a statement. According to the babysitter after the fall the baby was alert. The statement also mentioned that the accident seems similar to Natasha Richardson's accident. She was alert after the accident too.

After reading that it did make me wonder... The babysitter did text the mom to let her aware the child fell. Maybe the child was alert after the fall, maybe she wasn't aware there was more wrong. As parents, or babysitters, do we run our children to the ER everytime they have a fall?

After reading that, it did make me wonder. In the news we regularly read about child abuse cases, so it makes me wonder if now people are being quick to blame - especially when the accident could have easily occured on the mom's or anyone else's watch.

Now, this is something that is severly tragic. This baby didn't do this to herself. This evil woman did this. Now this poor mother has to live the rest of her days without her baby girl. So sorry for your loss, at least she is in a better place. RIP Baby Olivia.

Very sad and my prayers go to the child's mother.

If this was a deliberate act, it will be proven in court.

They are gonna arrest this beeyotch for murder, right? WHO THE **** waits two HOURS before calling for help? That right there is blatant neglect. Something bad probably happened to that child and this girl might get away with it. I hope not. My kids have fallen down a bunch since they were born, and it hasn't KILLED THEM! Goodness!

"Mom wants to know how child died in care of Billy Bob Thornton's daughter"
Really? That's a quote?
Or did she simply demand to know how her daughter died, and the Sentinel is simply trying to sell newspapers by adding a famous name to the headline?

Everyone here is accusing her of something so sinister and so terrible. Children fall all the time, and get hurt doing so. Give this poor woman a chance. It's possible that she did not commit this crime, that it was simply a terrible accident. If they thought it was truly malicious, the charge would have been much more. The neglect charge fits the story, because she did not call 911 right away after the child's fall. All I'm saying is you weren't there, and neither was I, you don't know what happened. You should not be so quick to persecute.

Thank you for the input. In my opinion, it should be federal law...so perhaps we can start a bit of a fire...

It took her two whole hours to call for help, and that call could have saved that baby. If the baby dies as a RESULT of that NEGLECT to call 911, that, my friend, is murder, and should be judged as such.

It would make the story MUCH more sensational if instead of "Billy Bob Thornton's daughter" they said "Angelina Jolie's former stepdaughter". Don'tcha think????

Did you immediately call for help every time they fell? I'm not convinced that this wasnt just a tragic accident.
