to me, it still doesnt seem like the babysitter is lying. I think it is very plausible that the baby was fine for a while, then went unconscience later, the babysitter thinking she was asleep. People fall from 3 story buildings and land without a scratch, i think this baby could fall a short distance and hit her head in just the right way that this could happen.

I am not a medical doctor, but look what happend to the actress that seemed to have taken a small fall and later wound up dead. She didn't want medical attention went back to the hotel and later came down with a headache. Accidents do happen and I tend to believe when it is a little one, we try to find answers or blame others, because we don't want to think just an accident. People are always looking for some one to blame. Regardless of the blame, it doesn't bring the little one back. May she have found comfort in the arms of the Lord.

Was an autopsy done??? If so, was there "snacks" in the child's stomach? If so, it would seem as if the sitter is telling the truth.

Another reason why people who can't or won't stay home to care for their kids shouldn't have any. We're a nation that accepts making our kids someone else's problem or responsibility. Then we wonder why they turn out like idiots or worse, as in this case.

Agree. Also, some medical professionals don't understand the effect of concussions, how is the average person to understand?

There are some pure psychos on this message board. Could have been an accident. We will never know. I would rather her be free if we do not know the truth than jail her for life just incase.

Did any of you read the article or just stop at the part that say Billy Bob Thornton's daughter? An autopsy was performed and the coroner, a highly educated professional, ruled the death a homocide. And why so much attention to the fact she's Billy Bob's daughter?? That doesn't change the fact that she's a low life baby killer, just like Casey. They should house them together at the jail.

Hopefully the investigation will reveal the truth and maybe by a miracle people won't sit here like they are the judge and jury. We do not know the facts, so we should not pass judgment here. Someone above referenced Natasha Richardson's death. The woman had sustained head trauma, but appeared to be fine, while instead her brain was bleeding out slowly. So, to sum up, you are not the final judge and jury, wait until you have all the facts before breaking out your torches and go on your witch hunt. Also, to the Orlando Sentinel, seriously, do we need to keep pointing out she is Billy Bob's daughter, especially since they are estranged from one another? What's the point besides sensationalism?

The reason they are giving so much attention to the fact that she is Billy Bob's daughter is just THAT. She is the adult child of a celebrity.

While I don't condone killing or abusing children, I don't think this woman set out to murder her friend's child. I think the child had a fall and Brumfield, NOT being a medical professional didn't know how to handle the situation. The baby could have passed out and she may have mistook this as being "asleep". As we have seen with the recent death of Natasha Richardson, head injuries may not seem serious at first. Ms. Richardson was laughing and cutting up after she fell down.

Dr. Garavalia may be a trained professional, but doctors do not know all and are not Gods. Sometimes when they get so much attention, they seem to think they know it all.

I don't think any mother or caregiver would react by calling 9-1-1 if their child fell from a playpen and didn't appear to have any significant injuries other than a cut lip or tongue. This doesn't sound like a case of child neglect. In fact, it doesn't sound like a case of anything. She (Amanda) wasn't "hiding" anything since she text messaged the childs mom and asked if she could keep them overnight again. Obviously, Amanda enjoyed caring for the baby. Accidents happen. No one is to blame. That's why they are called "accidents." This was not an intentional child neglect or abuse like so many other cases are. And the fact that she is Billy Bob's daughter has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on this case other than to sensationalize a simple injury of a child. She (Amanda) will be found innocent; not because she is the daughter of a rich and famous actor, but because she is innocent. End of story. Lets move onto more important things like the Magic beating up on the Lakers this Sunday!

Too many innocent kids are hurt or killed because people who aren't responsible enough are watching out for them. As a society, we're going to Hades in a handbasket...
