I hope someone can give an answer to this: I haven't noticed this, but a friend at church is convinced that when Bill Gaither has recorded or made arrangements of hymns he changes a word or two. Then whenever he comes across a non-traditional arrangement, he says "This must be a Gaither version." Has anyone noticed this?

I would ask on the Gaither home page, but you have to be a member and $65 bucks is kinda steep to ask one question...
