Hey ya'll, DownBeat has been supporting local new orleans musicians for years, and have helped to break several artists in the past few years.
One of which, Kermit Ruffins, will be performing Tuesday July 7th, at Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing. Many other artists will be performing throughout the coming weeks, so stay posted. Hope to see ya'll there
DownBeat magazine celebrating 75 years on jazz stage
And the big anniversary has stirred memories at DownBeat's main office in Elmhurst, a place where photos of jazz greats line the walls, where mail crates overflow with constantly arriving CDs and where a phone call could be anyone from Tony Bennett to Diana Krall .
