Faced with desertions by his political supporters and the neutrality of the Pakistani military, President Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan, an important ally of the United States, is expected to resign in the next few days rather than face impeachment charges, Pakistani politicians and Western diplomats said Thursday.

1 This is another failure of Bush's foreign policy! Why? It is so obvious that Musharraf has been known to be one of our best allies in the war fighting terrorists – No question - after 911, Musharraf was the first who immediately support the US in the war fighting terrorists. Now he is being pushed out in his own country. Do you get it? If we keep using Bush's policy, soon we will have no friend |

Interesting. There is a flip side to the coin. Mush was the architect of the islamic terror mechanism. In matter of no time he yielded to President Bush’s demands that he support American war on terror. Doesn’t the credit go to Mr. Bush? I know he is not very liked but then he did some wonderful things for America and the world. And, now that Mush’s services aren’t needed any more, since another deputy has been appointed after careful considerations. The new deputy is probably more loyal to America than Mush was. He will do exactly as he is told otherwise ISI (misspelled CIA) and the pak arm forces will see to it that he does not long very long. If anything we should be thankful to Mr. Bush for managing the pak affairs so elegantly. God bless America! |

1 However, he was finally outdone by his reluctance to do what ultimately has to be done in his country as well as ALL the Middle East - and that is to eliminate islamic extremism in every way. Unfortunately for Musharraf, that would mean he would have to kill millions of his own people, including most of his military and government. He just did not have the balls to do it. Now, hope he hands the keys to the nukes over to a responsible moderate muslim. |

1 Sounds just like: he disregards the Constitution; he feels exempt from international law; he sells out our children by deficit spending; he claims to be above the law by executive priviledge. |

1 Attitude of pakistanis is simply mind boggling. Their hate knows no bounds. They are after a man who did whatever was needed to undo many of pak's previous blunders. And, now they want his throat???? What knid of people are they? They are after a man who made great sacrifices for his nation, even put his life on risk pak is a much safer and better place to-day than when he took reins. Don't these moron understand that it is not him. It is them, the islamists and their hate. Why go after the poor bugger? I can understand why a political animal like FINELINE is after him. But why other educated people? It just oes not make sense!!!! |

To get a better idea of what type of person Musharraf is and his desperation to hold on to power. Read this.
FINELINE... "The Way of the World" Telephonic conversation with Musharraf: Referring to conversation that took place three weeks before her return when she was meeting US lawmakers at Capitol Hill, including John Kerry, and State Department officials, he writes: "Suddenly the couple (Bhutto-Zardari) turns. One of Bhutto's aides is rushing towards them, saying he's just gotten a call from one of Musharraf's aides. The aide says that Musharraf can't support Bhutto on a key demand ? the repeal of the provision prohibiting a third term for the prime ministers ? and he wants to talk to her... Bhutto takes the call from Islamabad. "The twice-elected provision is important to me," she tells Musharraf. "If you're retreating from that, what can you give me? May be some real reform in the election commission?" He says she shouldn't be hoping for much there, either. In their many calls, he's been surprisingly cordial, often quite reasonable. But something has changed. His voice is harsh, almost mocking her. She asks if the US officials have had conversation with him that makes it clear that her safety is his responsibility. "Yes, someone has called", Musharraf says, and then laughs. "The Americans can call all they want with their suggestions about you and me, let them call," he tells her... He finishes the call with a dose of fair warning. "You should understand something," Pervez Musharraf says, finally to Benazir Bhutto. "Your security is based on the state of our relationship." She hangs up the phone feeling as though she might be sick. |

Incredible!
Twisting words is a beautiful art. Isn't it? Why so much hate? Why all these justifications just because some have decided to "get even"? Certainly he is not as perfect as muhammad was. But, he is a patriot who has done a lot for pak. Why always look at everything negatively? pak should be thankful to him. He has done so much for pak. pufff. In one second he is branded traitor!!!! When will this cycle of hate end? Hate against the US, hate against Hindus, hate against Israel, hate against Christians, hate against India, hate against the western lifestyle, hate against Judaism .......... and hate against your own leaders. Why can't we all live in peace? |

You are the Indian Hate machine. FINELINE... |
If hate is expressed as hurting and killing others than nobody can surpass islam in general and pak in particular. Expressing one's views, exposing islam or lies cannot be termed as hate. Do you read news? Can't you see the expression of hate by pakis and other islamists on hourly basis? Instead of blaming others, why don't you honestly try to stop it. I guess then that won't be you. We all reap the fruits of our actions, you guys won't be an exception. I think you guys are just started, you have a ong way to go. Killing or exiling Mush is not going to solve anything. Though honesty will. Amen! |

Your anti-Islamic vitriols is quite sad, if we Muslims were the barbarians you state that we are there would not be a single Hindu in India today, we ruled over India for over a millenium, in only a few years your Zionists friends have succeded turning Israel proper from an 75% Mualim state to a 15% Muslim State, your Christian friends have been succesful in wiping out entire native populations in the Americas and Oceania, And... ah forget it... why bother your mind is made up and you are going to respond with some typical anti-Muslim cliche ... yawn... |

Likely no problem-the next stooge must already be bought & paid for-their public may try to mess with it though.

The new government should have reinstated the judges first. Musharraf still has the use of it's powers, and again he may misuse them.
So much misinformation going on. Musharraf is going to make a mockerey out of this, if the government does not react immediately. This should not drag on. FINELINE... http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5iWe152N60O... |

1 After US removed the Taliban from power in Afghanistan, General Musharraf helped US to fight the Islamic terrorists of al Qaida and Taliban although about half of the Pakistani people support the radical Islamic terrorist attacks of al Qaida. However, it was Secretary of State Rice that in the name of democracy and appeasement o the Islamic terrorists forced Musharraf to yield to the voices of democracy and bring to power the most anti-American radical Islamic regime ever in Pakistan. With the infiltration of al Qaida Islamic terrorists into the Pakistan Army, president Musharraf cannot rely on the Pakistani army to protect his security from Islamic terrorists of al Qaida and Taliban that seek his murder and he is right to leave Pakistan to save his life. |

Everone here does not realise that Pakistan's inflation is 25%. In America it is something like 3 or 4 % and their are many in America who do not care about the rest of the world as long as they are healthy. It is the same for all countries. Self preservation must come first and Musharaff did not do it. The worst thing that happened to Pakistan was that they got the bomb which meant that Musharaff as head of the army must not allow terrorist gain hold of it. For this Musharaff had to put the interests of foreingers first but at the expense of his own people. Had a democratically elected government provided for the people of Pakistan then Islamism would not become so prevalent. Musharaff would have been a better leader if he put the peoples interests first. He did not and after 9/11 he could not. Bin Laden has now become the face of Pakistan and he is only in the peripherial region of Waziristan where jihadists from around the globe can come to train. War with NATO in the north and destabilisation in the south. |
If the pak army cannot be trusted with the safety of a general how can it be trusted with the nuclear bombs? Should we get ready? How far can they deliver? I guess we are ok in Cananda but what about Europe, Israel and India? Scary! |
