NBCNC -- Senator Barack Obama became the first African-American to accept the Democratic party's nomination for president Thursday.
The historic event prompted a Montgomery, Alabama civil rights organization to gauge how white supremacists might react to an Obama presidency.
A Southern Poverty Law Center investigation shows most white supremacist groups support Obama's candidacy.
It's not the result they expected.
"What was really unexpected was that a very large number of white supremacists, including some of their intellectual leaders, like David Duke, were saying actually, this could be a good thing for us," explained the SPLC's Mark Potok.
Potok heads the Intelligence Project, which monitors hate groups nationwide.
SO I GUESS IT REALLY IS TRUE. OBAMA IS TRULY A “UNITER”... OF ALL OF THE HATE GROUPS.

I'm voting for Obama because of the complete Iraq War history, which is related to the second reason, the economy, and because, for a third reason, I know he is intelligent. I was for Ron Paul. I do not like George W. I think McCain was a POW hero who doesn't know enough about the economy and would have too many other weaknesses as President after George W.'s mess and is way too much of a risk-taker (see Ms. Palin).

Nor could his views be gleaned from scholarship; Obama has never published any. He was too busy, but also, Epstein believes, he was unwilling to put his name to anything that could haunt him politically, as Guinier's writings had hurt her. "He figured out, you lay low," Epstein said.
Obama never mentioned his humiliating, hopeless campaign against Rush in class (he lost by a two-to-one ratio), though colleagues noticed that he seemed exhausted and was smoking more than usual. Soon after, the faculty saw an opening and made him its best offer yet: tenure upon hiring; a handsome salary, more than the $60,000 he was making in the state Senate or the $60,000 he earned teaching part time; and a job for his wife, Michelle Obama, directing the legal clinic.
Your political career is dead, Daniel Fischel, then the dean, said he told Obama, gently. Obama turned the offer down. Two years later, he decided to run for the Senate. He canceled his course load and has not taught since.
Nobama is a do nothing sleaze. If elected president, the idiots who voted for him deserve what they get!

Americans do want change. The problem is many voters are just now realizng that Obama's political career was incubated in the garbage pits of Chicago corruption. He could have fought the massive corruption when he was a legisaltor but instead remained silent. For his silent cooperation, the corrupt politicians like Stroger, Emil Jones, the Daleys et. al. have awarded him with money and manpower from their vile ranks.
Palin, on the other hand, seems to have a history of fighting corrupt politicians even if they are one of her own. That's the change I want.
