Obama's plan?
Divide the nation along class and race lines.
Bankrupt us with trillion dollar plus deficits
Lie every time he opens his mouth
Insult our allies abroad
Reward his bundlers with hundreds of millions
raise unemployment to nearly 20%
Golf every chance he gets
Spend millions jetting around the country
Did I miss anything?

We are not living in "the good old days". There isn't the kind of community to which you refer for millions of us. We have permanently lost as many as 6-7 million jobs, and we have failed to retrain the people whose jobs were outsourced or destroyed. Concurrently, we bring in an additional 1 Million legal immigrants each year to add to the mix in jobs competition, not to mention illegal competition, and we create temporary and part-time (33 hour week/no benefit jobs). You're focused on the victims of globalization and predator capitalism rather than seeing the big picture as to why we cannot turn our backs on our fellow Americans. Call that whatever the h*ll suits you, but responsibility is a two way street.
Once again the resident socialist rears their head to decry those who were personally responsible and motivated in their lives, and claim that they are now somehow responsible to subsidize those who were less responsible and less motivated.

Although NTR claims to be a Republican it can plainly be seen that she is as liberal as the current administration and is completely indoctrinated in the welfare state of mind.

Minimum wage jobs are entry level jobs and were never intended for individuals to hold these positions long term or to attempt to raise a family on. If this is what an individual is attempting to do then their burden is theirs and not their fellow taxpayers. Responsible people take the steps necessary to be successful they do not wait for someone else to hand it to them nor should they.
Canít afford top notch health care on that minimum wage or part time job. This should be motivation for the responsible person to better their position in life by working towards furthering their education or skill sets so that they can advance and afford better health care. Why is it the responsibility of those who did the hard work to obtain a well paying job, to subsidize those who did not?

You are correct about one thing which is, it is no longer the good ole days, where a person could earn a living on a high school diploma. Those days have been diminishing since the early eighties. Those who saw that it was going to take a little more work than just graduating high school to make a living are most likely in better shape today than those who did not. Who is really to blame here? The liberals in this country would have you believe that because those who put in the hard work and have become successful are in some way obligated by their success to subsidize those with less. This is Socialism no matter how you dress it up.

I think I'd have to answer you that these issues have taken place with bipartisan efforts and are not an indictment of Obama, per se, as leading us into Socialism. Again, since I think the "for profit" nature of healthcare has led to a tremendous burden on society and lousy healthcare in general for millions of Americans owing to the lack of affordability, I wouldn't be opposed at all to Socialized health care and a single payer system such as Canada has. What do you suggest? Please don't say "personal responsibility", because that would indicate to me you have no idea in h*ll how generally unaffordable health insurance that actually provides a benefit IS for the individual buyer. A minimum wage worker absolutely cannot afford the standard Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance coverage policy that costs somewhere around $535/mo. Those are the same folks whose employers don't provide coverage. So, what would you like to do about that? Can you convince physicians to see and treat sick people for something that is affordable? Most of us who have coverage have no earthly idea how expensive our medications are for those who are not insured. Nobody is negotiating a lower cost for them, and consequently they pay five, six or more times what your insurer pays for your prescription.
<quoted text>
BS. Not a shred of comprehension on your part that this is not merely a matter of personal responsibility. It goes to the heart of the health care crisis in America. I can be personally responsible all day long and STILL not be able save enough to buy myself a new Mercedes. Get a clue about what the Average American brings home from a paycheck and has to deal with. Get a better job? Right.

We will discuss this further tomorrow (Thurs) but I wanted to apologize to you for calling you a liar regarding your voting record.

While it is still a little bit confusing to me, I was wrong to ASSume that you were being dishonest and disingenuous about your own voting record.

I appreciate your articulate responses and hope we can continue in that direction!

The energy density of biofuel is 1/3 that of standard fuel.
In layman's terms, it takes more biofuel to travel the same distance as non-diluted fuel.
i.e. using biofuel increases the "carbon footprint".

How asinine to use biofuel!

Aw, shaddup, Stan. You don't know your butt from a hole in the ground.

If there are no jobs for people with less than a college education, then I suppose college educated people will be working on assembly lines, digging ditches, serving fries and soda, collecting the trash, directing traffic, waiting tables at Denny's, installing landscape, operating dozers, driving tractors, watering the cattle, shearing the sheep, cutting your hair, selling you electronics, ringing up your purchases, dry cleaning your good suit, picking your blueberries, changing your head gasket, cleaning your house, cutting your meat, stocking the shelves, climbing the telephone poles, salting the roads, rolling asphalt,(I'm going to stop now because I'm tired).

Get a grip, you idiot. There are myriad jobs that do not require advanced credentials, and as long as those people are working and contributing to society, they certainly deserve to be able to eat and have a roof over their heads. Nobody works in order to starve or be homeless. Besides, you don't have much college, so why are you condescending? Such a hypocrite, you are. If we were investing in our infrastructure, a lot more of them would be working instead of sitting on a porch somewhere. And, if fewer illegal workers were on those jobs and more legal immigrant and American workers were doing them, you'd have less cause for complaint, not that I appreciate your brand of complaints anyway.

What can be plainly seen is that you and your malcontents are stalkers who stay up all night changing the judge-it icons. Frankly, Stan, it doesn't make you look one iota smarter and basically displays your complete lack of ethics. No surprises there. One more time, Stan. Try to retain for longer than two minutes: I'm a SOCIAL liberal and a FISCAL conservative. I believe in free market capitalism with SELF-RESTRAINT. I can't see the self-restraint today. I see an inordinate amount of greed and disrespect.

Pretty good post except for one thing. You alluded to college being the answer. The fact is a High School diploma was worth more in the sixties than a college degree is today. Those students go to college and when they graduate all they have is the almost worthless diploma. Those degrees are as common as tree leaves it seems everyone has one. Sadly the promosed pot of gold at the end of th education rainbow is a myth. All those gullible students have aquired is a worthless scrap of paper and a college loan to pay off. Supply & demand the High paying college degree jobs do not exist.

Your government and businesses WELCOME more cheap labor and more bodies from everywhere on planet earth. They are so intent on increasing cheap labor that they afford welfare and "independence" to young teens willing to produce babies to boost the population. What part of this formula haven't you figured out? If you want to be mad and indignant, try focusing on the source of the problem instead of the manifestations of it.

If you want ants, sprinkle a bag of sugar on the floor and go take a nap. Tell me what you see when you wake up from your stupor. If you don't want sugar loving ants, sweep it up and put the sugar in a zip lock bag. Problem solved. The ants will find other places to be.

Where I live there are lots of colleges. And there just isnt the jobs available for the graduates. Its likely the person checking you out a walmart has a college degree ot two. Where I used to work they needed a janitor groundskeeper handy person. So they advertized the job. It paid $10 per hour. They got hundreds of applicants. The owner was overwelmed. They where dreading interviews etc. I stated Ill do it and hire a good hand for $100. IThe first thing I did was throw all the applications that has college degrees in the trash. that got rid of 75% then I looked at the work record and culled the job jumpers. I got it down to about twenty in a couple hours. I called the rest in for interview. I watched when they drove up. If they smoked they where out. If their clothes & car where dirty they where out. If they where overdressed they where out. I hired a high school dropout. He drove up in a older primered PK that was clean and in good mechanical cond. I met him outside and we talked abou this truck and he has done all the work ect. That was the interview. And he didnt even know it. He was dressed for work and had calloused hands and was lean. He Went right to work that minute. He is still there. Best job He ever had and he knows the grass isnt greener anyplace else. Those with college wouldnt have been satisfied.
