It is not 'nerve' that Israel has, it is a matter of threat The Israelies believe Iran threatens their existence, and the Israelies (you and I have no ojective way to know if that threat is real or imagined) are not willing to lay down and die for anyone! The also know that they can NOT totally eliminate that threat alone (without using their own nukes) and given the physical size of their country they can't "take" a nuclear strike from Iran. The most reasonabl, likely the most effective strategy is to have the United States eliminate the threat for them. As an American you must ask yourself if America should and can (without unacceptable consequences) spend its men and money for Israel's security. Put another way: would you (or your children) fight and pay higher taxes to defeat Iran?

The U.S. lacks the cash to get involved in another war. After the two wars W dragged the country into, plus a big recession that followed, the coffers are empty.
