Obama objected to the McCain ad comparing him to celebrities Brittany Spears and Paris Hilton.

Now we learn that the "set" for his acceptance speech was designed by Spears' former set designer.

I hate when people throw out accusations comparing American leaders to Nazis. However (and call me a hypocrite or paranoid if you like -- maybe I am), but this set causes me very unpleasant associations with Hitler's vision of the Third Reich, with its classical architecture and the runway to the podium.

Why this extravagant display from a man who cries for change on behalf of ordinary people?

As I write this, he has not yet delivered his speech, but I am very concerned for our country.

I think the set is pretty meaningless. But whether the set really speaks to anything about the man or not, it was a stupid move. Does he not think his opposition is going to jump all over this? Why give them ammo?

I hope that Obama will recognize Chris Matthews and the MSNBC team for all the work they did to get him the nomination.
Objectivity in journalism is definitely a thing of the past.

Four years of this socialist and his arrogant, America hating wife should be a real fiasco. Between them and Pelosi, with help from stooges like Dodd, the "typical white people" (Obama's words) are really screwed.

This is one of the vaguest speeches I have ever heard. All change but no plan as to how that change will happen.

McCain has been trying to debate Obama for months and Obama has refused. Now he says he is eager to debate McCain?

He does read a speech very well.

No surprises with the speech.

Hopefully voters will realize that BHO had his big chance and laid an egg.

The drivebys no doubt loved it and they were covering history.

The speech spoke specifically about any and every argument that the Republicans could make against him. He finally delivered on the topics of HOW the plan will be implemented. Let's go toe to toe here... I'll be glad to quote the speech and we can debate the facts.
Use the forum for something substantive - the issues. Let's discuss - if you are willing. AND if you don't like the network coverage use an alternative source - PBS, BBC. And Fox doesn't count - oh that's right they barely covered it - real impartial...

I don't know what one poster is talking about cause I just watched the whole speech on Fox. Right now Fox is replaying some of it! A Fox reporter said he must have drank some koolade cause he thought the speech was great.

1.) Did you notice Hussen used the words "larger", "firmer", and "Trojan" in the same sentence? Did you notice how Mrs. Hussein applauded that sentence so heartily?

2.) Hussein showed he doesn't get it when he says he wants the same chances for HIS daughters that YOUR sons will get. Most people didn't get affirmative action scholarships to Ivy Leage schools, easier admissions into top law firms, and $300,000 Community Director jobs for reasons other than merit.
Obama doesn't realize a lot of guys face a glass ceiling thicker than anything Hillary Clinton ever faced. Hussein probably believes (and yes, I said this in another post) Caroline Kennedy, Chelsea Clinton, and Kerry's daughter whose parents are paying her way through medical school have had to work for anything they received in life. I don't believe Hussein won't use his position to wrangle a cushy job for his daughters. If a man does this for his son, it's elitism. If Hussein does the same, that clerk's or baker's son better keep his mouth shut out of fear of being called a racist or a whiner.

3.) Hussein also doesn't get it on the topic of "mutual responsibility" To many Dems, "mutual responsibility" means "give me what you have." I really want to know what baby mamas, section 8 housing residents, and junkies are doing to hold up their share of the responsibility. Is every welfare recipient striving 100% to get off the free money. Nope.

We met a woman with three kids from three different fathers a few months ago in this paper who didn't finish high school, but refused to pursue a job emptying bedpans. It was beneath her. How much responsibility is she shouldering. I didn't hear anything from Hussein about cutting off her continued welfare.

Are the folks I cited above doing everything they can to keep their costs down? Not when they have cable and cell phones and go out partying. Why buy your own health care when it reduces the amount of beer you can buy or how often you can get your nails done?

What a load! Obama fix Washington? These are the same Democrats who blow everything out of proportion. Barack is arguably worse than the Democrat's last moron, Kerry. He chooses a Vice-Presidential canidate who, like Kerry is an atrocious "Catholic", bumbles like an oaf, and has gone on record to say that McCain is a better candidate for president than Obama.

Has MSNBC been impartial? Have they covered the gaffes of each candidate equally? I never heard Olberman make fun of Obama saying there are 57 states on several states. Never hears MSNBC refute Obamals statements tens of thousandw dies in Hurricane Katrina. When he go tthe city he was in wrong, nobody at MSNBC mentioned Obama's gaffe.

The man seems to have a lack of concentration. His inability to stay fresh shows us an inability to multi-task.

What did you think of Olberman of MSNBC criticizing other writers who didn't think much of the speech. Keith smeared Charles Babbington of the AP for not agreeing with Keith.

Tell me if you think MSNBC is biased toward the left.

Obama didn't say which programs he would cut. Will he continue to provide financial assistance to those who can wotk but do not?

Can Obama defend a family of four with one person working making $69,999 (with a stay at home mom) expecting other taxpayers to pay for his kids' health insurance. Do you believe 4 people on $69,999 are scraping to get by? Obama does. He tried to buy their vote with SCHIP.

Their butts will be sore (the ladies and Log Cabin Republicans) because of the great sex they had after turning off Obama's speech after one minute.

A lot of Democrats will be sore from sex too tomorrow, but it won't matter much because they couldn't hold on to their jobs on the line. The welfare office doesn't open until 9, so no need to rise and shine early.

Dang - another chance for classic disco dancing at the convention and no takers. Since none of the speakers danced to Baby Face last night, I was sure Pelosi and Reid would twist to "MacArthur Park" on that big blue dance floor from whic Obama spoke. Or Joey Hairplugs (aka Joey Plugs) and his wife could spin around to "Dr, Love". dang

Well, a hour after the speech and Fox is still covering it. Greta has interviewed a couple of delegates and has said four different times that it was a great speech.
