I'd say the lead is wider that the poll states because pollsters do not call cell phones. A majority of younger voters who are leaning towards Obama only have cell phones and are not included in this snapshot.
Theres alot time between now and election day. Anything can happen.

This election will end up being a slam dunk win for Obama.

Just wait until we see the numbers after the VP debate!

The VP debate should widen that margin. Palin can't compete against Biden.

Unbelievable is all I can say. How can this guy come on the scene this fast and rise to this level amazes me. He defeated Hilary. I wish I knew the underlying reason for his rise, other than the fact he is a demo. and Bush is a republican. If he is elected and he will be, then I just go along with the flow and hopes he does a nice job. He will have his hands full but I guess he will surround himself with good people.

Look for cheap shots and empty rhetoric in tomorrow's VP debate.

I only wish Katie Couric was moderating the debate (ROFL). But make no mistake about it, Palin will do a *much* better job tomorrow night. However, she could not have polished up (rebuilt) her understanding of domestic and foreign policy or economic policy in the last 5 days to a point that will sufficiently beat Biden.

Unfortunately I am going to have to Tivo the debate. Now I just have to stay away from the media in the interim.

So this is the type of person you are looking at to lead us:
Couric: And when it comes to establishing your world view, I was curious, what newspapers and magazines did you regularly read before you were tapped for this to stay informed and to understand the world?
Palin: I’ve read most of them, again with a great appreciation for the press, for the media.
Couric: What, specifically?
Palin: Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me all these years.
Couric: Can you name a few?
Palin: I have a vast variety of sources where we get our news, too. Alaska isn’t a foreign country, where it’s kind of suggested,“Wow, how could you keep in touch with what the rest of Washington, D.C., may be thinking when you live up there in Alaska?” Believe me, Alaska is like a microcosm of America.
Also, where have you been living the past 8 years?

House Speaker Pelosi Used Political Donations to Pay Husband's Firm
Wednesday, October 01, 2008

E-Mail Respond Print Share:

"WASHINGTON — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi paid her husband's real estate and investment firm nearly $100,000 from her political action committee over the past decade, a practice that she voted to ban last year and that her party condemned as part of the "culture of corruption" when Republicans did it.

The Washington Times is reporting that the California Democrat's husband, Paul F. Pelosi, owns Financial Leasing Services Inc., which has received $99,000 in rent, utilities and accounting fees from the speaker's "PAC to the Future" over the PAC's nine-year history.

Last year, Pelosi supported a bill that would have banned members of Congress from putting spouses on their campaign staffs. The bill banned not only direct payments by congressional campaign committees and PACs to spouses for services including consulting and furndraising, but also "indirect compensation," such as payments to companies that employ spouses.

The bill passed the House in a voice vote but died in a Senate committee.

Last week, Pelosi's office defended the payments, saying they were legal because she is compensating her husband at fair market value for the work his firm has performed for the PAC.

Ethical watchdogs called Pelosi's arrangement "problematic.""

But see, this stuff is OK, I guess. I really need to understand all the rules and to whom they apply.

Of course, it means nothing when it is coming from Fox. Man, I keep forgetting that part. Sorry, my bad.

Help me out here. I am in the stock market with mutuals, iras, and the like. My portfolio has grown tremendously over the past seven years. Although I couldn't stand Bush, I always felt that if my funds continue to rise, this is great. Why hasn't anyone talked about the past seven years. What was the "Bush economy" doing during these years. Everytime I met with my financial advisor, he was quick to show me the gains. I am not going to say what the specifics are but as of today, I lost $104,000 since my highest total about a year ago. I am reminded by my financial advisor to keep in there and things will improve. If things improve and I find out it was becasue of getting Obama elected, then the mid-term elections will swing to the Rep. as it did in the past.

I guess I am wondering why hasn't the rep. brought up the strong economy that existed in the past seven years. We went through a recession and 9/11.

Of course it goes without saying that if this is McCain's choice as backup, you wonder where his mind is?

Storm - that 'tremendous growth' over the last seven years was based on a house of cards, which is now crumbling. I'm sure Bush was fervently hoping that he could get out of office with at least this growth intact but, alas, it was not to be.
Also, if your financial advisor was not taking some of those gains and sheltering them periodically then he/she wasn't doing their job.
Good luck...
