Represenative Hoyer is right, Ronald Reagan does carry a cult of personality, but it was a cult he earned by being a strong leader. He didn't host a rock concert--err nomination speech--at an outdoor football stadium with pillars. He didn't go to Berlin UNTIL he had been elected and succeeded in many facets of his Presidency. You EARN a cult of personality by your successes, and most Americans, unlike spoon-fed Steny (has he ever held a real non-political job in his life), don't count winning a primary to be a "success."

Gee, a trillion bucks--not to mention the lives of >4000 brave US soldiers--already flushed down the Tigris & Euphrates for no good reason, and there are still folks out there delusional enough to be happy to hand the keys to the Treasury to a guy who'd be happy to keep it up for another 100 years. Now I know who Mencken was talking about when he said "No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people..."
