I notice many McCain supporters do so at the expense of Barack Obama. You might do yourself and your candidate some good if you spend at least a sentence or two telling voters why you are for McCain and not just against Obama.

I support Barack Obama because I think his demeanor and intelligence enable him to work well with other people including Republicans to get things done. One of the reasons I supported Obama early on was his work with Republican Senator Richard Lugar. Lugar and Obama took a trip to Russia to discuss WMD & other weapons proliferation. It resulted in meaningful legislation: http://obama.senate.gov/press/070628-obama_lu...

Obama was against the Iraq debacle form the get go. He has an economic plan that I support.

I respect and admire John McCain's military service. But I also think the guy is a hothead who doesn't have the temperament or judgement to be president.

These are some of the reasons I support Barack Obama to be President of the United States of America.

"Obama has carried flip-flopping to new heights. In the space of a month and a half, this candidate — who we don’t really yet know very well — reversed or sharply modified his positions on at least nine key issues:

After vowing to eschew private fundraising and take public financing, he has now refused public money.

Once he threatened to filibuster a bill to protect telephone companies from liability for their cooperation with national security wiretaps; now he has voted for the legislation.

Turning his back on a lifetime of support for gun control, he now recognizes a Second Amendment right to bear arms in the wake of the Supreme Court decision.

Formerly, he told the Israeli lobby that he favored an undivided Jerusalem. Now he says he didn’t mean it.

From a 100 percent pro-choice position, he now has migrated to expressing doubts about allowing partial-birth abortions.

For the first time, he now speaks highly of using church-based institutions to deliver public services to the poor.

Having based his entire campaign on withdrawal from Iraq, he now pledges to consult with the military first.

During the primary, he backed merit pay for teachers — but before the union a few weeks ago, he opposed it.

After specifically saying in the primaries that he disagreed with Sen. Hillary Clinton’s proposal to impose Social Security taxes on income over $200,000 and wanted to tax all income, he has now adopted the Clinton position."

It's very simple. If you believe America is going in the right direction vote for MCain.
If you want a continuation of the policies of George Bush vote for McCain.
If you are better off today than you were eight years ago vote for McCain.
The supporters of George Bush have had a great eight years - people like big oil, Halliburton, and the insurance companies have record profits. The same people that Bankrolled the President are now bankrolling McCain. Any reputation he had as being a Maverick is long gone.
Obama offers a return to an America where the country is run for the benefit of the many and not the few.
Does McCain have more experience. Of course hes does but experience is secondary to vision and character.
Look at our recent Presidents with the most expereince - LBJ, Nixon, Ford, Bush Sr. All of these men had a great deal of expereince in the Senate - as does McCain - and there administrations are rated as poor to mediocre by most historians.
Did Lincoln have a lot of experince? How about George Washington,Tom Jefferson, or Harry Truman?
What these men had is what Obama has - Character and Vision.

Talk about change that John McCain will bring, he''ll start World War 3 in the Middle East by pushing Israel to bomb Iran, which will send Oil to $500 a barrel,$10 a gallon. And with his policies of cutting taxes for the rich to basically 0, Our deficit to the rest of the world will go from $10 trillion to 20 or 30 Trillion. That's the change you get if you elect someone to the White house was born in the 30's. His 20th Century mindset will put us all into a Great Depression just like how he first grew up in.

Roberta, What a great letter !

If there were ever points to be made on why Obama is not best suited to lead the United States of American it would be these few so simple ones. These should be etch in stone for all to read right up to election day. This is when all voting Americans must make the most important FACTUAL BASED decision of their life.

BTW I like too how the Sun-Sent add the very appropriate headline.

Now just where in the hell did you get the information that these protesters were Obama supporters? No where in the tape does it say that. It just says that they are anti-war protestors. Like everything you say, you twist it to fit your twisted mind.
What this person did, spit on the vet was a disgusting act and she should be prosecuted for assault. But tell us all how you know that she did it because she is supporting Obama.

i take it that jerry (the self proclaimed war hero) is supporting the friend of someone who bombed the pentagon...i didn't say that she (?) did it because she (?) was an o'banion supporter...just that she (?) is a supporter...once again jerry finds it difficult to tell the truth

The letter writer seems to be a bit confused. She first talks about the country being in need of "change," then goes on to tout John McCain. How can someone who has voted in lockstep with George Bush 91% of the time, has embraced most of his failed policies, and indeed plans to continue those policies in the future equate to this "change" she speaks of? Did I miss that memo?

To HMA (aka The Short Bus Kid), will you please stop the crap about the spitting YouTube video!!! NO WHERE does it state the person doing the spitting is an Obama supporter! They are an ANTI-WAR PROTESTER...like many republicans are! I know in your twisted little 5th-grade mind this may be hard to fathom, but a lot of people are against this war...NOT just Democrats, and NOT just Obama supporters. So before you reply with one of your short-tempered tirades, save us all the trouble and just go skrew yourself!
