Obama hammers Romney tax plan in Ohio

Full story: abcnews.go.com

Romney's tax plan would leave millionaires paying less in taxes and the poor and middle class paying more

Stumping for votes in the pivotal battleground of Ohio, President Barack Obama hammered Mitt Romney's tax plan on Wednesday, highlighting a new study that said the Republican challenger's blueprint could leave poor and middle-class Americans paying more to the IRS to offset tax cuts for the wealthiest.

The study found that the Republican candidate's proposal would leave incomes of Americans who make more than $1 million per year $87,000 higher after taxes, those making between $500,000 and $1 million would get a $17,000 tax cut, those making between $200,000 and $500,000 would get $1,800, while households below that income level would see their tax bill rise by $500 on average.

While Obama has ignored 2 diiferent bi-partisan plans to address the problems.

But since the plans reduce tax rates and kill off loopholes that doesn't feed Obama's class warfare gig.

Dems like high taxes so they can sell loopholes to cronies.

Repeating what you see on FOXLIES only makes you seem stupid.

If theer were a 'bi-partisan plan it would have passed the congress.

You seem quite doltish. Think first.

There were 2 as I said. Obma's own POTUS Commission ( Simpson-Bowles) and the commission of 12 about a year ago.

Where were you ?

Obama could easily ask for support of one or the other from Reid and/or Pelosi.

Simpson-Bowles ( Obama's own) came out when the Dems controlled everything so there was nothing to stop them if they were serious.

The only thing logically stop them is as I said , Dems like high taxes so they can sell loopholes to cronies.

I understand your a LEFTY and you have your LEFTY pat answers but my background on Simpson-Bowles came from their being interveiwed by Charlie Rose . The transcripts are available on Rose's site.

BTW , Rose isn't on FOX ( verify with your handlers).

They have been interviewed by Rose more than once ( check with you HANDLERS ).

Simpson-Bowles is not a bi-partisan bill. It is another attack on the American middle-class by the wealthy who pull the strings of the psudo-right.

Simpson - Bowles is a disaster for the American middle-class.
Start with the idea tio give up the motrtgage interst deduction... a non-starter.

This is not "left" or "right." Nor am I. This is disaster.

Mr_Bill sure wishes he had 'handlers.' Get me a Bon-bon, Willard.

Wow have your HANDLERS misguided you.

Eskine Bowles served in the Clinton WH and various other Dem rolls and ran for office as a Dem.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erskine_Bowles

Simpson was a GOP U.S. Senator.

Once again , I repeat , Dems like high taxes so they can sell loopholes to cronies.

That does not make it a bi-partisan bill.

Remember, any position that eliminates the middle-class's mortgage tax deduction will be a non-starter, even if Ted and Jack Kennedy came back to endorse it.

I can’t wait for Romney’s tax returns to be leaked – it has been reported that he paid no income taxes for 10 years…

WOW!!!!!!!!!!

Just image how it would look for a person worth close to a half a billion dollars,[that’s $500,000,000] paying zero in taxes to the country whose constitution, laws and liberties helped make him super-wealthy.

Hey Pat,... I can see you're back in full swing, wallowing in the same tired old class warfare. You need stop capitulating to the incessant left wing BS that is fed to you by the MSM. In my experience in talking with liberals... They are incapable of thinking for themselves. They blindly swallow whatever garbage is thrown their way. Then they regurgitate it and think they're coming up with a novel idea. Be forewarned... Barack Hussein Obama is going down in flames in November.

Harvey, are you in cahoots with Pat? I see you're embracing the same ugly class envy as you always have. Let's face it Harvey... You want to steal from the rich... You want legalized plunder... That is the essence of liberalism.

From the study:

"This paper examines the tradeoffs among three competing goals that are inherent in a revenue-neutral income tax reform—maintaining tax revenues, ensuring a progressive tax system, and lowering marginal tax rates—drawing on the example of the tax policies advanced in presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s tax plan."

Modeling Assumptions

"Spending cuts are excluded from the analysis. As a result, tax rate reductions are wholly
financed by the most progressive possible combination of cuts in available income tax
expenditures."

http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/UploadedPDF/10...

Spending cuts are excluded.

This study is crap.

Duh !

It's common for both the Wh and the Congress to craft legislation to present and then have someone in the leg. puts it forth as a bill , pass or not pass and then be signed or fade away.(duh)

Duh!

Obama got the plan from Simpson-Bowles ( Duh).
He didn't recommend that a Dem congress member present it as a proposal (duh).

Twenty-three have been tabled by
Harry Reiad.
Many have extensive bi-partisan support.

HR 72 Feb.'11. Passed 390 to 35 with the support of 150 Dems.
The bill would of reviewed regs. that may prohibit job growth.
Harry tabled it.

Plus 22 others tabled by Harry.
