People need to grow up and stop being so sensitive. Such a classic movie has to be ruined because a few people can't suck it up.

So it's okay to offend the French but not Asians? I'm confused.

I say if you don't like the d*mn movie STAY HOME. No one dragged you there to see it. Political Correctness has gone to far when a movie like "Breakfast at Tiffany's" gets someones boxers in a bunch.

This is unbelievable, it has to be a joke. People don't like stereotypes because they are true.

Isn't denying / banning (a form of censorship mind you) people from seeing this movie because of some peoples perceived prejudices just as discriminatory?
It's a flipping movie for cripes sake. It's art. Freedom of expression. Or are we really living in a communist state? |

I wonder what the activists would have done if Mayor Cohn picked "Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo".
Aw c'mom, Breakfast at Tiffanys wasn't meant as a put-down toward asians. If Rooney portrayed a bumbling **-->add race of choice here<--** whould said activist be smiling instead? I'm asian and I love that movie! As EDR said, GROW UP. SHOW THE MOVIE! |

The film was made over 45 years ago. It is a classic. If the "offended" people don't want to watch, then don't go to the screening. Political correctness is getting out of hand. Whiny people need to get a life and stay out of mine.

Wow .. The PC powers are alive and well. I guess we need to edit out a host of Hollywood classic then like "The Treasure of Sierra Madre" (Mexicans) "Scarface" (Italians)and "Roots" (it just makes white slave owners look mean).
I would suggest they replace it with "The Passion of the Christ" but you know that whole Mel Gibson thing (and who really controls Hollywood). I suppose that "Ratatouille" is a safe choice, rats in a French restaurant seem fairly benign. However, I suppose if there were cats in a Korean restaurant ... |

And I said what about "Breakfast at Tiffany's? She said, "I think I remember the film, And as I recall, I think, we both kinda liked it." And I said, "Well, that's the one thing we've got."
Sorry, I just couldn't resist!!!:-D |

What ever happened to " I may not agree with what you have to say but, will defend with my life your RIGHT to say it".(Patrick Henry) That was the foundation for the 1st amendment in the BILL OF RIGHTS, Freedom of speech. Seems today to many of us have foregot it. We allow porno under the 1st amen., yet a few people affended about a scene in a classic movie and the movie gets canceled. That's the 1st amend. in action. Just how many people are affended by porno, we're told we have the CHOICE to view it or not. Those affended by the scene in the movie have a choice to walk in on their own to feet and sit down or stay away. Why should hundreds of people be denied the RIGHT to see this classic movie because it affends someone. Is this not the whole reason we have 1st. amend. protection is so a few people can't control the many. It certainly didn't work this time, now did it? Where is the ACLU, when for once they could actually be on the right side for a change.

Well, I think it was stupid to judge something for movie which is older than 40 years. I mean, they should done all of that years before. I am a very big Audrey Hepburn fan and personally don't have any complains to her movies, just many compliments. As I have most of her movies in my personal collection and 'Breakfast at Tiffany' is in HD format, I can say that I don't have anything against their ''stop-showing'' protest, it is only theirs loss.
