Annette, I just finished watching "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes"-Have watched it about 10 times. I grew up with the Mouse Club. My cousin used to be Walt's executive secretary. They lived in Calf. we lived in Illinois on a farm. I've worked with special needs students for 35 years. Want you to know I'm praying for your comfort. And wish for your happiness and comfort always. Thank you for the memories.

Annette, I remember my Mom telling me that she had helped you pick out clothes for your children at the Liberty House store at Kahala Mall in Honolulu in the 1970's. She said she you were concerned about something at the time, but didn't share with her what is was. Mom passed away in 2001, but always prayed for customers and other people she met everyday. It's a great practice for me to continue. God bless you and your family and friends, Annette. Cheryl

I was always taught that if you can't say anything good about a person you should say nothing at all. Whether you think so or not, Annette Funnicello brought a great deal of happiness and wholesome entertainment to an entire generation and here foundation is working hard to bring relief to those who suffer. What have you personally done to make the world a better place?

Totally Mad wrote: Its a total shame that over the years people have lost compassion for one another and to say nice things about each other instead of becoming an utter buffoons. I guess no one is taught anymore if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. I guess its all in how a person was brought up. I'm a physician and I deal with patients with MS and its not a nice disease to have. Its most unfortunate that no cure has come about for this disease. All we can do is provide comfort measures for the patient. Ms. Funicello is definitely a fighter and I commend her on her strength to fight as long as she has. As like with any disease, it doesn't matter if you're an actress, musician, doctor, lawyer or even the common man, they will strike and with a vengeance. Nowadays, more people don't care about anything except about who they are going to get money from so they can have their next fix or who they can steal from so they don't have to work to pay for it. This society is really going to the dogs. You’re a Physician? Why aren’t you out playing golf or studying medical books or something more intellectual? Instead of reading what Gossip Venting bunch of screwballs has to say? Doctor's fill their pockets all the time with patients money and Medical Insuance. A real Doctor wouldn't waste time hanging out here, unless he/she is a failure. Then they would be studying for their Real Estate License.

She was born in Utica but her parents moved to California when she was around 3. I highly doubt she has any memories of Utica.

Yeah it's pretty amazing how people in this area will take any amount of association that a famous person has with Utica, etc. and make it more important than it is. It doesn't matter how small either.

What is even crazier is the old retards that actually think the dumb btch actually reads topix from a hometown she moved away from when she was like 3! Utica always did have a problem being the "overstated city" they brag here like they have a permit for it!

See "Joe Bonamassa" who once played with Eric Clapton and now goes around announcing it on the marquee and in all articles at every performance and using it as his claim to fame in leiu of having any hit records or more than 50 listeners. I was born elsewhere but smart family from utica always pointed this out to me like as a warning. Utica has been such a desperate shythole for so long because of the low quality of the people and failure legal and educational system that they have absolutely no standards unless it involves their reputations and self-image. Suddenly everything is bigger than life when they are editing their own wikipedia page or talking about their government job. Uticans are like poor self conscious ghetto dwellers they are too quick to show off the new sneakers they got on welfare. It drips from the newspaper and anything having to do with this turdbox I'm so glad to be leaving for the last time soon. I'm sure they'll have an Annette Funicello theme park subsidized with government "if you build it" grants before long!!!

They act as though it's on a par with the Boston or NYC marathons. Oh, and if some celebrity were to stop and take shit in a gas station restroom, they'd use it as some connection to Utica. Pathetic. They remind me of that aging desperate actress or actor who won't let go of past glory.
