In addition to doing a full concert, the musicians will be doing jazz-poetry collaborations with poets from around the world-- there will be poets and prose writers from China, Mongolia, Jamaica, India, El Salvador, and Lithuania. The concert occurs on a closed street where writers-in-exile are given sanctuary, because they were threatened with persecution or death in their native countries. The event is a celebration of creative free expression.
