I had the privilege of helping Alanis out when she lived in Ottawa, years ago. She was 16ish I guess, had recently got her licence to drive, got caught speeding, was issued a ticket from the RCMP and had come in to pay it at the courthouse where I worked, traffic division. She said she just wanted to pay it. The way the RCMP tickets worked, you had to either appear in court on the courtdate assigned or wait until the courtdate passed and await a bill in the mail, then pay it. I asked her to explain to me how she got the ticket, what happened? She told me and I told her to appear in court, provide an explanation to the Justice and see what happens, she had a unique explanation but whatever. So she returns on the courtdate, goes into court, the officer didn't show up so she got off on the ticket. She returned to thank me and I asked her for an autograph, telling her I'd watched and listened to her for a couple years at that time and I knew she'd be big one day, so, she signed a piece of paper saying, "Barry, thanks for helping me out, love Alanis", which I still have to this day.

I love Alannis!

this dude ... what dude ?.. the mindless invasive idiot who not only filmed it, but then proceeded to download it and so on -- and then, tag something that's being done in a private place, as a public thing -- whoever you are, "the dude" -- I hope someone rams their camera into your MOST private time, whatever that may be -- and by the way -- maybe now you can move onto other people, like maybe athletes, or other HUMANS -- maybe you can hang around in locker rooms, that would be invasive .. and then post that, see what happens to you then --

I really really do -- I hope whoever was holding that camera gets theirs -- I hope your MOST private moment is invaded and posted on-line -- or whatever the equivalent would be in your little ignorant existence --

You kids know shit about the source of this video. It is part of a shortfilm kinda backstage documentary called "We´re with the Band" from the Spike compny. And of course Alanis gave official permission. Or do you really believe that she would not be literally double pissed if someone films her like that? Security officials and assistants were all around. That plus you can tell from the image quality that this was a pro-shot camera. You can´t see her actually pee. Later in the film a crew member drinks the whole cup. Nuff said??? Oh Oh Oh do you kids believe every lil clip on the net?

hey Harold, I'm not a "kid" .. I'm 43 .. but thanks for sharing this .. I was really angry and I hope what you say is true .. although I'm not expending any effort to find out -- enough eh -- I do genuinely thank you for the clarification -- My issue is, still, the presentation and the tag line -- clearly it's not a "public" place --

but you're right -- how in the world could anyone pull that off backstage ?

plus, like I said, athletes and performers have to do this ALL THE TIME ..
the distance between the washrooms and the stage can be very very far in the arenas and so on ... anyways, thanks again Harold, have a nice day :)

So what. I pee in public and I am thankful for abundant bushes, etc. I went dog walking with a friend and I had to stop to pee in the bushes. No we were not drunk 20 somethings but women in our 50s. So long as one is as discreet as possible to avoid an audience, I don't think it is a big deal. I saw 2 youngish people walking and the lady waited on the sidewalk while her beau went behind a dumpster to pee. He was discreet. I am sure many people have thanked mother earth for bushes, dumpsters, etc. as nature called.
