Hmmm, I think I like your list better than MTV's! Megadeath, definitely. Heh, my 8 year old daughter loves Symphony of Destruction! My 13 year old son loves Maiden (so do I).

angusfreak- Metallica is way better then Ac/Dc. Ac/Dc couldnt keep up with metallica, the only good band member is Angus young and my friend can bacically play all the solos he's played in his career.

AC/DC is Rock"n"Roll, it should be off the list!!!!!!!But Metallica should be 1st not 3rd!!!!

I personally think the top five should be Slipknot, Metallica,Avenged Sevenfold,Black Sabbath, and Bullet For My Valentine but that's just my opinion.

I agree that KISS is not even a metal band. I do agree that Guns & Roses should be on the list.
However, I don't think you guys are politically correct suggesting ACDC isn't heavy metal; they're definitely metal (if you disagree, maybe you should quite a few of their songs again; 'cuz they're a little more than simple rock and roll).
In the rock and rock hall of fame, they're a lot of singers like John Lennon and Paul McCartney who inducted into the hall of fame. Again, ACDC's songs are totally bad ass metal compared to simple rock and roll. I agree that they aren't death metal, but, what if you compared ACDC to say Sammy Hagar.
Sammy Hagar's "I can't drive 55" is an example of your definition of the word "rock", and, of course, compared to him, ACDC is 200% more bad ass with their music. The more bad ass you get the more the term "metal" is easily recognized.
As far as I'm concerned, the following ACDC's songs are prove that you people who say ACDC is not a heavy metal band or even a metal band must be full of it.

So far as ACDC comes they would be very high on my faverout 'artists' but like has been said, their really more rock and roll.

Ok look.
1. Black Sabbath, pretty much did invent heavy metal
2. Judas Priest, they're very well known though they shouldn't be #2 on any metal list
3. Motörhead, no motorhead are just legendary, they don't play thrash metal, they never have, they play straight out heavy metal
4. Metallica pretty much made thrash metal famous along with Slayer and Megadeth
5. Slayer, fucking awesome band, pretty much the only metal band in this list that has always just made music for the music
6. Iron Maiden, legendary, well known and they're fucking awesome
7. Pantera, awesome metal band but definately not deserving of top 10.
8. Dragonforce, seriously? I mean seriously? I don't think there's much more to say, dragonforce shouldn't be in anyones top 100, let alone top 10
9. Venom, fucking awesome band, influenced heaps of metal bands, don't know how you can put this in though but leave out diamond head.
10. In Flames, This is this a joke right? They aren't even death metal. They might be melodic death metal but from what i've heard from them they'd barely pass for that.

I'm not going to make a list cause only first few would be proper then it'd just be bias like yours though mine would actually make sense.
