now personally i think the last 4 should be off because every1 hear whos a AC/DC fan has heard angus and every1 say "Were a rock n roll band thats all weve said to be"
now if this was a greatest bands list it would be pretty good if AC/DC was number 1

Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Motorhead and Judas Priest are the only true metal bands on that list.

Damn straight AC/DC is WAY better than Metalica(SELL OUT BAND), but AC/DC shouldn't even be on that list, they're ROCK N ROLL, not metal, how many times do I have to tell people? Not only do they sound nothing like metal, they feel it an insult when people label them as that. Read the album notes in "The Razor's Edge."

Pantera and Slayer is just noise, and Kiss and Motley Crue both SUCK, more sell out bullsh*t.

Not the best list but a lot more like it. Greatness means the biggest influence and how much they contributed to the genre, not how popular.

iron maiden are no doubt the pioneers of metal, in all areas. what about dream theater? progressive metal is as metal as anything, and bands like them set a great trend for so many bands to come.

as warden suggested, bands like venom and helloween certainly deserve recognition in the list. kiss and motley need i say more, an absolute joke in my eyes. even deep purple deserve to bethere, they set the trend for the top 4 bands on this list

Metallica is has way better and way more complex songs than AC/DC, cutting your hair doesn't mean your selling out (though they looked quite...gayish when they released Load, and the stuff about Napster was total bullcr*p).

My list would be:

1. Black Sabbath (They basically made heavy metal)
2. Metallica (Basically started the style we today know as thrash metal, repeatedly mentioned as the most famous metal band in the world)
3. Judas Priest (Heavy metal pioneers)
4. Motörhead (One of the best heavy metal bands to roam the earth)
5. Iron Maiden (Another great heavy metal band)
6. Pantera (Without them, heavy metal would have nearly died in the '90s)
7. Venom (Credited by thrash metal bands as a big influence)
8. Megadeth (Another great thrash metal band)
9. Mercyful Fate (Probably the best black metal band there is/was)
10. Death (Death metal's best)

2. Judas Priest (metal gods)
3. Motörhead (invented thrash)
4. Metallica (made thrash metal popular)
5. Slayer (THE extreme metal band, not slipknot)

I think: AC/DC shouldn't appear.
Metallica hadn't sold out.
Death metal is NOT Heavy metal. It's just a big ball of noise.
Dream Theater are Progresive Rock, NOT Heavy metal.
How can you put "Testament" before Metallica and Megadeth? That unknown band hasn't more recognition than the others two.
Guns 'n Roses should appear.
Deep Purple should appear too.
There's no way that Helloween, Death or Venom are biggest than Metallica. Celtic Frost shouldn't appear there, nobody knows them.

ac/dc is NOT NOT NOT NOT METAL. like jonna said, men in armor. makes no sense. you either say rock, good ol rock n roll, or hard rock for those technical people. metal... god.
