Judge it!
A very well put article that I read with great interest.
Joker could be the most difficult role in his career because no matter how well he performs and the fifferent versons the storyline goes, he will be compared to Jack Nicholsen's 1989 icon. Some will like it and some will not like it.
But you missed one film in Heath Ledger's film bio --

who cares? give the guy some credit! he takes on many different roles and is well aware of the risks. his best role was Ennis Del Mar in brokeback mountain...(heath ledger is so hot!!!)

I did not go to see Brokeback Mountain. Who needs to see it to know what's going to happen? I liked Heath Ledger, especially in "The Patriot". He would have faired better to let two lesser unknowns take the part. Not a good idea. He'll lose about 12 good years on his career. Sorry to say. There's a small group that may like the movie, but it's the larger group that I would concern myself with.

Ok the whole love scene thing didn't turn me on (I'm a straight female) but it was an exceptional preformance. The story line was also very good. Heath Ledger and Jake G. both proved that they were excellent actors with that movie.
