Further, the Vietnam state controlled Tuoi Tre (in Jan 2006) reported that in June 1975 audit confirmed there were NO missing gold in the Central Bank. All the books were matched; rumors were spread so Communist Vietnam could build people's anger toward VNCH. But recently more state controlled media have come out to clear the whole baseless rumor.

So Copperfield or Toto or whatever your name is you just made a fool of yourself as usual. You really should learn to corroborate your position from more than one source before you post.

Well, he was a very wealthy man back in his days. Based on what fact do you assume that the gold belong to the State, especially when the stories could not be confirmed.

Well, at least it was established that the 16 tons of gold were still at the Central Bank and handed over to your government. The interesting question should be: What did they do with the gold?

NguyenVanThieu wanted to steal but according to your own source TranVanHuong did not allowed the gold to be shipped out of Vietnam. That is the story about the 16 tons of gold.

About the 3 tons. No proof that the gold remained in Vietnam like the 16 other tons of gold and no proof that it was in Thieu's possession abroad. So as long as there is no proof whatsoever, i am sure that people will raise the question again and again until it is verified.
It's like the assassination of JF Kennedy. the question will be raised by generations to come too.

As for me posting again and again about the 3 tons of gold, it is to show every one that accusing the government of Vietnam of stealing billion of dollars without proof is a joke. You need to bring proof of a bank that keeps the money for them.

Any way, I think you are not one of those hard headed people who would say any thing without some solid proof.

One last thing. NguyenVanThieu was rich in land but not in dollars or gold. He had an army salary all his life before he became president for 8 years. Where did he get all the dollars to live confortably for almost 30 years without working. The land and houses he owned he left behind.

You claim you have a brain, if so you should understand the debit and credit process of a banking system. The Vietnam controlled media already reported that Vietnam Central bank final audit proved all the books matched and balanced. Which mean 16 tons of gold NOT 18 tons as rumor was in place.

The Vietnam Communist Party were not greedy and did not steal anything from the Vietnam People Army. Thus VPA recieved a lot more aids from Soviet Union and China.

After the war, the VCP rewared themselves with a little bit of the spoils they confiscated from the corrupted "Nguy" leaders and you "Nguy" guys got mad? They were the winner and deserved all of the rewards.
