3 Tiny Minded Tim, here's a hint for you: You are a far, far right wing minority and most Americans left you in the dust about 60 years ago. Tim, you probably don't get out much so here's another clue for you: much of Europe is socialist and it's a beautiful system that those people would never want to give up. It's time to stay away from far right wing nutcase people like John Birchers and realize that your skewed view of American life is ancient history. If you like "rugged individualism" so much why don't you go and start your own country with other people who actually agree with you? I hate to break it to you, but most people agree with me and you'll find that out when Mr. Obama wins. |

1 My Great-Grandfather served in WWI, my grandfather served in WWII and my father served in Vietnam. I am not going ANYWHERE :D My family has history in this country for near 160 years, I have roots here and plan on staying here as well. You can try to talk down to me as much with your drivel, but you are sadly mistaken if you think I am a far right winger. Sorry to say, all you have to do is look for posts of mine that show my beliefs. Then again, I have never seen anything other then posts like the 1 above from you ever so I am not surpised by your arrogance/ignorance. Europe has a rate of unemployment about 2-3x what the US has. How is that so much better? You have nut jobs running around the UK stabbing anyone who dares talk back to them. You have radicals in Mosques all over the UK and they do nothing about them. France had riots due to race relations just a few years ago. Denmark had tons of riots due to the publication of pictures mocking Islam. You had a distant relative of Van Gogh had his head near chopped off for publishing a book critical of Islam. You have..... you see the point? If its so nice over there why dont YOU go live there with its Socialist policies. I would prefer to stick to the ideals of DEMOCRACY and the ideals of a Republic rather then the ideals of some socialis puke. |

1 Have you ever known a kid with a grim future? One that's left to fend for themselves on the streets amongst drugs and violence. That kid has a very normal human want to belong. But what's waiting for that child on the streets is drugs and gangs or whatever. Those things/people/issues welcome that child with open arms. Now if people who are well of to do would open their arms to children like that. Be a mentor to them, a cheerleader in their lives. I bet that child would have a harder time falling into the wrong arms. I even bet that child would grow up, graduate high school, even maybe go onto college. A slow movement of believing in one child. And I'm sure that if more children were mentored by the right people, over time maybe the need for assistance would go away. But for now, I see there is a need for it. If we keep thinking the way we do about people about children, nothing is going to change, crime will continue, drugs, the need for assistance will continue the same. |

1 America is the land of Republicans and the land of people who are anti-woman and anti-gay. We're not so perfect either. |

Hey Allison,
You are barking up the WRONG tree here. Let me see, I was sexually abused numerous times from age 11-13. My father denied he was my biological father when I Was 13, even though it has been proven now that he was full of crap. My mother had an abusive boyfriend who used to use me for a punching bag because I dared to speak my mind to him. I had at the age of 16 a huge fight with said boyfriend and we told my mother to choose which person left and she told ME to leave. Then after near 3 months of living in my car and staying with my brothers(different dads) father for a couple months my father decided to let me live with him since i wasnt too big of an inconvienence for him and my step-mother and her 3 kids that he supported. Then my step-sister gets knocked up and all my step-mother can do is ask me almost daily when the hell I am going to leave so she has more room for her grandson. I subsequently got hooked on multiple drugs and totally screwed up my high school time. Then I finally got myself in a position where I was sick of feeling sorry for myself and did something about it. I proceeded to become the youngest manager that Oasis Market had in the company. Then moved onto other management positions only to end up finally at a major University in a low end job. BUT it got me 10 free credits per term to go back to college. Your whole pitty story to try to get some sympathy was pretty much MY life story. I did it by myself for myself. I didnt need some program to pick me up, because I realized VERY early on that you can only count on yourself when you are in a bad situation and that is who you SHOULD count on. A side note to the story, my mother contracted Hep-C from her days of using drugs as well. And when she needed a place to stay while she recovered I let her live with me for 6 years without any added expense to her. I paid for everything around the house and she barely had enough to cover her own needs. I didnt hold it against her that she tossed me out with the trash when I was 16, I didnt hold it against her what happened to me growing up. I was there to help her when she needed it and I would do it again. Because that is what family is supposed to do. Even though my famliy hasnt done it for me, doesnt mean I wont do it for them. Since 2 wrongs never make it right. |

1 I know you're happy with the way your life has turned out but would you have been happier if all of those bad things didn't happen to you? If you had a person there for you so you wouldn't have had to have such a hard life in the beginning? Maybe I'm wrong in my thinking but I just don't understand why life has to be so hard. |

I cant really say one way or the other if my life would have been different. I cant say who I would be today or what my views would be. It was those hard times and days where I was worring about how I could make $15 last for a weeks worth of food. Counting each slice of Buddig lunch meat to make sure I had enough to eat each day, is what made me into the conservative that I am today. I honestly cant say I would be happier if things had been different, because had they been different I would be different and my perception of what matters in life would be completely different. Its amazing at having to choose between eating and having a place to live since nobody would help will change your views on life.

You better talk to your buddies who have their own ideas of what "change" is. I agree with you, by the way. Obama's change means socialism. There's others who say I'm paranoid for thinking Obama is for socialism, because I'm looking at his past record, and not what he's saying today. Problem with people who say nothing more than "change" is that no one has any idea (or every idea) what "change" means. |

Oh wait, that was me. Another one of my personalities. Carry on self. |

**Dem's Platform Includes Slush Fund For Soros**
http://www.ibdeditorials.com/IBDArticles.aspx... The Democratic Party platform is like a bag of pork rinds. You never know what high-fat liberal government morsel you're gonna get. Buried in the 94-page document is a noble-sounding proposal to create a "Social Investment Fund Network." The program would provide federal money to "social entrepreneurs and leading nonprofit organizations (that) are assisting schools, lifting families out of poverty, filling health care gaps and inspiring others to lead change in their own communities." The Democratic Party promises to "support these results-oriented innovators" by creating an office to "coordinate government and nonprofit efforts" and then showering "a series of grants" on the chosen groups "to replicate these programs nationwide." This brainchild of Barack Obama would serve as a permanent, taxpayer-backed pipeline to Democratic partisan outfits masquerading as public-interest do-gooders. This George Soros Slush Fund would be political payback in spades. Obama owes much of his Chicago political success to financial support from radical, left-wing billionaire and leading "social entrepreneur" Soros. In June 2004, Soros threw a big fundraiser at his New York home for Obama's Illinois Senate campaign. Soros and family personally chipped in $60,000. In April 2007, Obama was back in New York for a deep-pocketed fundraising soiree, with Soros lurking in his shadow. No doubt with Soros' approbation (if not advice from the hands-on "progressive" activist or his advisers), Obama fleshed out his Social Investment Fund Network plan last December. In concert with his mandatory volunteerism pitch and $6 billion anti-poverty plan, Obama called for the creation of a "Social Entrepreneurship Agency" to dispense the funds in unspecified amounts. |
