What is wrong with our children? Is it the parents' fault?

May God show no mercy on their souls. Too bad the taxpayers will pay to keep them living for the next 70 years or so.

Their color is not important, whatever it is, rather than have the taxpayers pay for their incarceration and have them on the street in 10 years, it should be the death penalty. My guess is there would be be a waiting list for those willing to push the button.

Actually, this could have been any of our kids doing this but luckedly it wasn't. Kids learn what's good and what's evil from parent's, single parent's, at school, church and from adult relatives and television. They know the difference. Why they choose to do what they do, the violence that this Generation is widely known for, I'm lost for words. It seems they are never concern about the consequences to the victim or themselves. Any promise these two individuals may have had to offer society is forever lost. They soon will enter another violent world of called prison. The victim will enter a 6 foot cold and dark grave. Senseless.

And for all the ignorant responders who want to inject race into this. Just remember in these times young people of all races are doing more violence than in any generation I know of. Gangs are the worst they have been in the history of this country.

Some will argue that since they are so young, that therefore the penalty should be light. However due to their actions, and they were preplanned and clearly intentional actions, a woman was murdered.

It's about time that we take a stand and declare that those who engage in the very most outrageous conduct, and certainly murder qualifies, need to be permanently removed from general society.

White young adults and teens are also widely known for horrendous vicious murders like this one and mass murders where they kill innocents. Whites do drive by's, murder and kill for stupid reasons they are unexplainable like the crime we are discussing. In Cold Blood, by Truman Capote wasn't written about Black kids.

If the tribune printed the crimes that whites do like they do with minorities of this country the hateful white responders would shut the hail up. People are people. People are good and evil.

White kids got drunk and tied and bound another white kid out West to a fence and beat him to death just because he was GAy. Whites are known for raping little kids. So, let's don't make this racial. A Asian young man just killed 33 innocent people. Some Indian from India killed his little babies and his wife. Shtttit happens. Humans, all humans do stupid stuff; then, they do good stuff.

I feel so sad for all of the families in this case. What would have to go on in a teens head to make him beat someone in the head? Was there any signs of trouble before this? If yes, what did the parent do about it? Wisconsin has some of the best intervention programs in the nation. We all clamor for a child to be charged as an adult in crimes like this but lets step back a moment. What happens if we lock these kids up for 20 years? In that time they learn to be better, angrier criminals and are back on the street. Before we throw away the key on these kids, lets imagine for a moment that they are our nephews. Yes, they should be punished, but how and for how long is the question. Crimes like these happen in other countries too. The are not sensationalized by the media. Life in prison in never on the table for very young offenders and yet there is not a high rate of re offending. The business aspect of prisons has to be examined too. There has got to be a better solution. God have mercy on these kids and give the victims child the strength to carry on.

You know lots of white 14 & 15 year olds that would kill for an XBox? That's a pretty sad life your leading. You may want to change your circle of friends.

If these boys thought no one was home, then why did they cut the phone lines, bring a bat and unloaded gun? Sounds like premeditation to me. They knew someone was home. I am sure they knew the boyfriend had a route in the middle of the night. They should be found guilty and thrown in jail for the rest of their lives. If they aren't they will have a life of crime and I guarrenty they would commit more crimes in the future.

Put those little punks in the adult prision. The lifers there need a little bit of daily release of pent up tension.
