why would a DVD player flash the time, 12:00 or otherwise?

and what about for those of us living in the real world...not willing to spend several hundred dollars a night for a hotel room? or not on a generous expense account for that matter?

I thought the flashing 12:00 was the brand name.

I'm waiting for the hotel industry to provide a hotel room that is quiet so I don't have to listen to all the doors slamming at all hours of the day and night!

I'll tell you the one thing I'd wish hotels would do that would make me over the moon happy: start installing an electrical outlet waist-high, especially right next to the bed and behind the nightstand. In order for me to plug in and recharge my cell phone and my ipod I have to unplug lamps and sometimes the clock, and crawl behind the headboard to reach the damn outlet. I guess I could use the outlet in the bathroom but I like having my stuff next to me.
