Playing PS2 Games online with the PS3

What is the trick to getting the PS2 online games to work on youre PS3? For example Call of duty for the playstaion 2 will not connect via web on the PS 3 ?? The console is connected wireless and plays online with PS 3 games . I was told that there would be no problems playing PS2 online games on the PS3. Whats the trick ??

i wish you could tell me that lol would be good to know how to make it work cause i have tried fifa 07 and had no luck cause it ask's to connect through mermory card or something... annoying

Not bein funny here but why would you wanna play COD2 on your PS3 when you got COD3 i can understand wantin to play a footie game cause there aint any available yet for the PS3 but if you cant get online it dont matter not long to wait for the yearly instalment of yearly sports titles

I am having the same problem did you figure anything out?

You need THE ETHERNET ADAPTOR FOR YOUR PS3 AND INSTALL IT ONTO YOUR HARDDRIVE THEN SAVE IT TO MEMORY CARD 1 THEN IT SHOULD ALLOW U TO PLAY.

Where can i get an Ethernet adaptor for my PS3??

u have to go and buy one.it will be hard to find since the ps3 launch but there must be some shop that still sells them check it up online!

I can play Fight Night 3 (for PS2) online on my PS3 but not Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4.... Tony Hawk's game always fails to connect to the master server.

you don't need no ethernet adaptor!! you already have ethernet port built into the ps3..just connect the ethernet cable to the router and ps3.. set up online settings in game..and you are ready to play online!

(btw this is how i did it for pes6..where you can set online settings in game..i'm presuming you can do the same for other games)

First, you need to go to the PS Store from your PS3. You need to download the PS2 Network Adaptor software from the store. It's free, and it emulates the PS2 network adaptor's functions. The games will think you have a PS2 network adaptor plugged in.
Second, put in the PS2 games and try to get online like normal. Like I said, the PS2 game will think there is an adaptor and it will do it's usual thing.

what PS software from the store? there is no software available!!!!!!!!

well done network adaptor. this bloke is real but chugger. giVin us instructions on How to do it and then. DUH! forgETtING to tell us the f*kin website addy to get the network adaptor off of.

Can someone tell me how to play The PS2 version of NBA 2k7 online on PS3? Everytime I go try and connect its says Network Error(-610).

I have never like EA sports online system. Zipper and bungie and a few others has got it made for online. It's great. As far as I've seen and heard, the whole online thing is from the store and I got three years off of it, so that's wicked. I love gift cards!!!
