If Lucas say he wants to locate in a drug free city, will the Council unanimously vote to close all pot stores and grows in Vallejo? Does Lucas' money beat drug money?

LOLOLOL, you people are INSANE if you think he has any ineterst in Mare Island. Yes, send Sam, that'll do the trick. Sam can threaten his wife, scream at his kids and call them all VIBers when they call him an idiot.

Top of the Morn' to ya, FC! Did you get those rain barrels filled last night?

You bet that we would have a "special meeting" over the weekend!

Things are getting a bit nasty over in Marin, according to reports in their daily fish wrap. Lots of bobbing and weaving and not the kumbaya in unison hand holding kind! People are speaking out against George, because they want to keep Marin bucolic and not littered by his proposed business and now affordable/low income housing project with everything that comes with it.

An affordable housing project envisioned instead of the studio probably will face opposition not ever seen in Marin. Of course giving the thumbs down gesture applies to lack of public transportation to the proposed site... and of course we could not inconvenience anyone by not being mobil. No sewer lines, no nothing.... obviously an issue that can be overcome with an infusion of greenbacks!

Well, will not hold my breath, but nothing is over until it comes directly from the horses mouth, ah, George's that is.

The rain makes things grow faster and a lot greener and yes, they add more to the stash.

My opinion, Marin does not really need another Lucas studio to keep their coffers filled with coins. Their umbilical cord is Frisco through the Gate, so the odds are that George will move once he finds a good place. Now hear this, George could even create a venture capital company to engage in maritime industy that will provide both jobs and revenue. With his connections and placement at Mare Island, it will be like Costco drawing the shops at Gateway Plaza.

My next vision, ferries from Mare Island to ports all over the Bay Area. It will make Vallejo a hub of commerce from Sacramento to SF down to LA. The Star Wars man is waiting to see the picture that will arouse his fantasy, that's his gig.

FC, are you going to charge for your all the advice you are giving?
Yes, the possibilities are unlimited, only dashed by those without imagination and drive to succeed.

I took the Twin City Liner, a light aluminum high-speed catamaran with jet propulsion from Vienna to Bratislava. It took but 75 minutes and cost 60 Euros in 2008.
According to their ad, due to its low draft and low wash, the high-speed catamaran is the perfect solution for the Danube and especially for the Danube Canal, which is often very shallow in the summer.

In our case though, the key seems to be to not get huge vessels that only carry passengers. Have you had a chance to utilize the BC Ferry System? I love it, a bit spendy, but the only way to go, even their on board restaurants/buffets are great. They are on time within minutes, unless a pod of whales passes through the area and the engines are cut.
I wonder what would happen if one of the whales does fall in love with the vessel?

I usually am not very keen to draw comparisons with other places, but the proposed rail connection from Santa Rosa to San Rafael is very intriguing to me.

We also are sitting on railroad tracks that could be utilized all the way up to Calistoga and back to Vallejo. As American trains are too heavy and noisy for me, especially when they are routed through populated areas, a light rail system would be perfect for this purpose.

Just imagine a day pass could take a user from train to ferry to sightseeing all without ever having to sit in traffic.

I do not recall any movement with the Flour Mill property and so far there do not seem to be any confirmed plans for it. What a perfect place for a train terminus, ferry stop, living and shopping combo.

For future consideration as a true regional transportation hub Vallejo has to have possibilities that go beyond the personal car and spotty bus service. To be truly attractive as a place where one can go in every direction and get to the desired destination in a timely fashion, we have to have individuals at the helm who are out of the box thinkers with imagination and drive. George comes to mind.

Certainly, it all hinges on available funds, but if it can be presented to show promising returns, the private sector will invest.

Sorry, I got carried away! Have a great weekend.
Hoping a little dry spell appears so I can mow my lawn that has gone wild in the last few days.

Can't do it, my husband and I are joined at the hip.:-)

Although my horoscope does state "You can bring some spice into life", hmm?
Probably means I should try out that new dish I promised to make for some time. Yeah, probably....

very good Gee, I'm glad you don't get caught up with the garbage in Vallejo. While I work in Marin was raised in Vallejo and married to someone who works on the Marin ferry....You are what Vallejo needs.
;-)! Vallejo needs to get in bed with Lucas. If Vallejo doesn't, I will. I know the Mayor of Vallejo and politicians in Marin.

Yes, Vallejo needs all the help it can get! Why not help it along a bit? Contrary to popular belief, Vallejo has many good people trying to make a difference. It is commendable that you did not forget your roots, many do. I want to thank you for that.

It is disheartening to read nothing but one liners that denigrate others. While I am not totally adverse to some salty language at times, as a rule I do try to see other people's side while protecting my believes.

The following little saying was given to me by my husband on our wedding day and has been with me ever since. I had the hardest time to memorize it because it just did not fit; the words were oddly arranged in my opinion.(I am foreign born and English is my second language+) I still carry it in my wallet, laminated and acting as a cheat sheet, to this day:

"I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.

The highways are getting congested and no Bart extension planned, the best alternative is the waterways. With state and private funding, George can create a consortium that will make the entire Bay Area waters the highway of the future.
