We are currently in Australia and expanding our transport and logistics company into the ship brokering sector and we require Venture capital to enable us to expand.

I have attached the executive summary, please review and advise if we can establish an ongoing future business relationship.

The returns vary, and we can achieve up to 40% per annum on your investment paid monthly in advance, that figure will depend on how we negotiate each individual time charter and also the initial monies invested.

The funding we require comprises of the following:

We need 15-30 days up front which is returned upon expiration of the charter,

For example we have 1 of 4 charters available, they are requesting 307,500 USD deposit in which the charter is fixed for 10 months, these funds will be returned to the investor once the expiration of the charter occurs.

Our level of funding requires us to have a line of credit which will enables us to secure 2 to 5 charters per month,

As for this example we are looking for approximately 1,000,000-2,000,000 dollars USD ongoing every month, to enable us to secure these charters monthly.

And also we will require letters of credit to show the ship owners that we have financial backup as a form of security,

We will also be requesting letters of credit from the parties we sub-charter out to, securing our position and enhancing your piece of mind.

These Charters are fixed for a period of time which ranges from 7 months to 2 years,

We have established sound shipping contacts and relationships with our colleagues in London, Greece and Singapore.

This business is a very lucrative as we can continuously introduce 2 to 5 charters a month providing a high return for all parties concerned.

I look forward to speaking to you in the nearby future if this is something you would be interested in pursuing further.

Warm Regards,
John Korfias

John - what you are requesting is not for a ship brokering company but for a ship operating company. Shipbrokers take no risk. Ship operators take lots of risk. Many ship operators have gone out of business recently due to the volatile shipping markets. i hope you have the expertiose to pull this off.

Yes you are correct,
our partner in shipping wasn't honest witht the numbers and we have abandoned the whole project due to the volatile market,
We however will be persuing the matter at a later date, when the markets stabilize and there is a viable market.
I have since departed with the person who wanted this joint venture with me, and will look to persue a another business Venture.
Are you an investor by any chance?

Hi

I am a shipping entrepreneur but not the kind that asks people for money and then bets on black like your friend.

I am infact looking for funding too for various bulk shipping ideas. What many investors dont realise is that bulk shipping / shipbroking is one of the most lucrative industries in the world - it just needs to be approached with normal due diligence. Its interesting that Toll have just bought a bulk shipping outfit from Darwin (perkins shipping) and this is a great move. My interest is more with regards to consultancy and online maritime education.

Cheers
Nick

Nick,

How much funding were you after? And would you like to partner up as I have Chinese investors that are interested in funding shipping ventures worldwide.

I would love to be educated by someone that has knowledge and is honest and passionate about their work as I'm passionate and wanting to learn more about the shipping industrie.

Obviously the reason why our first venture failed was because the massive gamble we were going to take and our partner was not being truthful even though his family over in Greece own a large shipping company, he should have known better.

I should outline overall what we can do.

I have a team of 4 people - 2 chartering, 1 postfix and 1 secretarial. We have a combines 60 years shipchartering expertise all with first class Australian and European companies.

We are looking for joint venture partners and investors willing to help us start a ship operating / management company here in Australia.

We have experience accross all dry cargo market segments (handy size to capes) and cargo types such as iron ore, caol and grains.

Our Australian, Asian (particularly Chinese) and Middle Eastern cargo contacts are second to none.

Partners could be estanblished shipowner / operators and investors could be financial backers willing to let us do all the work.

This is a fantastic opportnity for any serious interest out there.

++

On a seperate note we also looking for backers for an online Maritime Educational Institute. Pitching to the Asian Markets.

Kindly let me know

Daily Horoscope for December 4

Taurus

Someone simply isn't being realistic or practical today, Taurus. He or she seems to be lost in a dream world of wishful thinking and idealism, none of which has much to do with what's really going on. Unfortunately, they won't want to hear any of this and may even manipulate the situation so they don't have to listen to your opinions. Be careful when dealing with this character and try not to get sucked into this desire to escape reality at all costs.
