Tigers Killed in Zanesville Among Endangered Species

I'm not hoping for anything out of this. It's all sickening and horrifying to me. My only point was that none of this adds up. I don't know if any had their teeth capped, but since some were rescue animals it's possible.

Another point worth making is that another poster to this site claimed to have personally called the company that used the animals in commercials and told them they might want to rethink that. If Mr Thompson flew as a private pilot for charters would the federal charges for illegal possession of firearms result in his losing his pilots license and another source of income? The FAA is pretty stringent but I don't know the answer to this question.

Gosh Mike YOU are F'N STUPID IMO!! 100%, fullstock dumbass! You aware of the fact his Dad lost his life in the line of duty responding to a burglary? I live 5 plus hours away and am very thankful that Zanesville had a Sheriff with enough common sense to know the dangers that lied ahead for his County when these animals went on the prowl for food.

Why dont you all do a little research of just how powerful these animals are? Remember a lady named Charla Nash left blind and without a face at the hands of her friends Chimp? That was a Chimp imagine what a Bengal Tiger, Lion or a Grizzly is capable of.

What right do some of you have to throw this man under the bus all for saving lifes of others? When many of you have made comments on here that you are praying for him and his deputies to suffer the same. What does that say for YOU? Would you please post a news newslink showing us where they shot ond flippin animal in its cage.. Thats BS and you know it!! As for the feeding time, Jack Hannah stated in one of the releases with Sheriff M.L that the animals had been fed "day before yesterday" unquote.. I would call that two days. One of the cats ate a monkey so that should tell you it was hungry, they were charging the horses that were on the farm that indicates hunger IMO. Gosh watch some of the news maybe you can get the facts straight.

The cats were all de-clawed, so were the bears. Since you want to speculate that Thompson led them all to a barn for holding and released them all at once I want to speculate to. I want to speculate that if that were the case they would have fought each other.
I want to speculate about de-clawed cats and bears. Did you know that some people have their teeth capped? I have seen this with my own eyes. How many of those big cats were de-clawed with their teeth capped? How many had been fixed? This reduces aggression.
You seem to defend this sheriff simply because he is a sheriff, without looking at the facts of what happened. You have blinders on. So did the sheriff

While I can offer heartfelt sympathy to the sheriff on the loss of his father, let me remind you that if we all live long enough we will all loose our fathers. Because the sheriffs father died in the line of duty is no reason to make excuses for the sheriff or his actions.

Where were all the vets with tranqualizer darts. Zanessville is 55 miles west of columbus? No one thought of flying anymore vets or emergency netting in by hellcopter? If Thompson's intention was to free the animals then commit suicide, why would he free only the ones outside the house? It is very odd that such a thorough job was done with all the outside animals while the ones enclosed inside his private residence were totally undisturbed. Oh...maybe "he" didn't know they were in there. Or he forgot about them. Yeah, that's the ticket. I really feel there will be more to come out on this situation.

Yeah , i believe there should be some sort of investigation on this blood bath that took place. If thease big cats were so agressive as Law enforcement claims , then Mr. Thompson would have been eaten. Another thing i'm curious about: How far were thease cats from their cages at the time they were shot? If they were close and still on or near their property, that would leave me to believe that they were simply shot to death out of panic & fear and NOT ATTACKING OR CHARGING ANYONE. Hopefully, this kind of thing never happens again. My guess is that most of thease cats were somewhat calm because of all the human contact they had with Mr. thompson and his wife.

When someone is crazy or Suicidal many things they do don't make sense ! Unless you have ever been in that frame of mind you can't begin to second guess what he was thinking ! But make no mistake all of these cats were capable of killing you in the blink of an eye ! Most of you say they should have done this or they should have done that again unless you've been in a situation where you've had seconds to make a choice then you don't have a clue about it ! These cats can cover 50 feet in a mere 2 seconds not much time to wait for a dart to work ! It's easy to say the cops should have tried everything to save these cats but in the end they did exactly what they were suppose to do protect and serve ! Under no circumstances should the life of an Animal out way the life of a Human ever !

First off, i don't think anyones saying that an animal comes first over a human life. Remember, MAN is the MOST DANGEROUS GAME ON THIS PLANET. Just watch the nightly news.

this sheriff should be prosecuted, for the crime he has committed, killing these innocent, beautiful anmals, who were not doing any hrm, if they were vicious, howcome they didnt eat the other animals that were on the property? howcome they didnt et the owner who committed suicide? the lies, of the sheriffs department, make me sick, you should all be put in jail you have no conscious, you are disquisting! you are a murdering bunch of fools, hope you never can get anywhere in your lives, because people will know how sick you are!
