Headline: Horses could soon be slaughtered in US for human food after Congress lifts ban on inspections
But later it says, "Although there are reports of Americans dining on horse meat a recently as the 1940s, the practice is virtually non-existent in this country..."
OTOH, there's this, "The last U.S. slaughterhouse that butchered horses closed in 2007 in Illinois...."
So... if horses were not used for food since the 1940's, then what was the horse slaughterhouse doing with the meat?
Wait a sec, "Horses could soon be butchered in the U.S. for human consumption after Congress quietly lifted a 5-year-old ban on funding horse meat inspections".
So the practice hasn't been done in 5 years but inspectors were still being funded?
And let's not forget from paragraph one, "and activists say slaughterhouses could be up and running in as little as a month."
Gee... nothing like the credible word of an activist connecting dots that don't exist.
