We all in essence got a brand on our ass,,its the governments number on each and one every one of us..whats next TATTOO'S?? The animals and Americans???..why not??? it worked.before in totalitarian dictatorships....at first its the small things a government does to take power, then of course its total control for total absolute power. If branding works, and ranchers are ok with it, why would it need to change? Makes no sense.

Government wants cattlemen to use ID tags and or chips for country of origin labeling(way to track animals back to the farm in case of problems) Branding still the best tamper proof way to sort out the neighbors cattle.
