Anyone not smart enough to operate a computer is probably too dumb to catch a coyote. Some can actually do both. For being "In the Loop" you really aren't. Game & Fish never had anything to do with predator control. Once again, if you were "In the Loop" you would know that the goat propsal got tabled months ago.

wow i know a guy who has killed over 20 thousand coyotes and has a hard time operateing a computer just because some folks are internet experts doesnt mean they know what the hell they are doing
as far as going and shooting a few coyotes or hogs thats not going to solve anything it can actualy make matters worse someone who knows how to use all the tools in the trade like trapping denning snareing calling as well as m44s and lpc collars needs to be in the position not weekend warrior callers who need help adjusting a # 2 or 1.34 duke its going to take alot of equitment and the knowlege and hands on experience to use those tools to get the job done to prevent conflicts or like the county is after doing a population reduction the job is to keep the cattlemen and sheepmen who are left in the county in buisness bye preventing loss of lambs or calves to predators. ya know alot of guys like myself cant type worth shit nor do we get on computers much but we know what the hell were doing and do it.
i hope richard burton does well the program ha been a messsince day one alot of things went wrong but the guys in there now i hope thy get er done

I say you put a bounty on a coyotes head,$25, or $50 and let the hunters kill them, bring them in for inspection and their check and then dispose of them. You cap the yearly amount paid out at half or three quarters what you would pay one individual and once you reach that amount then the bounty paying is over. After a couple of years of this our coyote problem should be under control. This would work much faster than having one guy attempt to hunt them all and it would be cheaper for the County.

but the bounty system isnt going to work number one no one is going to willing to pay 50 bucks for a coyots as its not 50 or a hundred coyotes that need to be killed try thousands not to mention honesty is a quality that is lacking these days whats to stop guys from takeing coyotes from other countys or texas and gtting the amount of money you are speaking of? nothing and how many landowners do you think are going to let in guys with litte experience trying to make a buck on there land? what real problems are they going to solve? whos going to do the important work like denning in the summer? its easy to say that every predator caller is going to jump in there with an incentive of money to control the pupulation sorry thats a pipe dream whos going to work the old educated coyotes or the ones killing calves or sheep that are call shy? and just so you know the coyote problem is never over never will be the key here is loss prevention. if you were going to control the population you would need to tke 70% of the coyote pupulation for at least 5 consecutive years thats a fact i dont see weekend warriors and brand new callers doing so i dont see a year long program doing so either

sorry

not to mention at 35-40 dallor coyotes on the fur market i havent ran into anyone else in otero county this winter except for a frein of mine who calls there. and if a guy cant use all the tools available that will enable him to kill more coyotes then ten weekend callers a month he shouldnt be in there

Reading comprehension is a good thing, the originator of the idea placed the limit of the bounties at the salary paid to one individual who will never cover the entire county in a life time. face it the guy came up with a good idea that has merit and would work just fine. residents with a NM drivers license and a permit issued by the county to take part in the bounty program closes all the doors for abuse.

I killed 4 coyotes in less than three hours Monday just south of town. There are literally hundreds around the land fill. Local hunters would be crazy to travel to other counties to kill dogs when they can kill them close to home and save gas money. Traveling to other places would cut into their profits. We now have coyotes running around the city limits. Put a bounty on them and get as many hunters into the field as possible. When the bounty money runs out so be it. Some hunters will find a new sport to take up and continue to help control this coyote problem.
