For the amount PA residents pay for hunting liecense, There are only a few animals that are fit to eat, My opinion is the boar is no big deal, I think there just making a job for someone to study and catch them!!Put a 2 week season on them , let people know where they are .Have check stations like they do for bear season.Whats the big deal!!! Sell a boar stamp, whats the problem people will have some good eating, Really how many people do you think will really go hunting for them after the first few days? If you ain't got dogs or the patience to set in a tree stand You might as well forget it. PA Game Commission use your head alittle bit......
PGC using it's head...good one PlottDog that's the funniest thing I've read in a long time. Personally I buy enough stamps already.

Mr. Snake Doc, Are you talking Postage Stamps!! I can tell right off the bat , your one of these weekend warrior type hunters!! If they sell a stamp for it you got to have, it in case you stumble over it hunting (cough ,cough). There's a good chance there is more hunting done at your local tavern or your lazy boy chair than in the woods. Now what do you suggest Pa. dose with the hogs they have now? Can't wait to here your solution!!! You just don't collect those stamps for a hobby do you?

Actually I spend roughly 3 days a week hunting in early Archery, mixed with some days of fall turkey. One or two days in bear, the whole first week of rifle, the whole fisrt week of muzzle loader if I have tags left and about 3 days a week in Spring Gobbler. So if that makes me a weekend warrior I guess I am then. Unfortunately I have to work full time. I don't think there should be a tag or a stamp for hogs. They should be treated like coyotes, you see one you kill it. Can't wait to HEAR your solution. You made that judgement becuase I called it a stamp? I don't use the correct terminology for you so I don't know how to hunt? That about right? I guess I'll make the judgement that you are an uneducated hillbilly becuase you don't know the difference between the words here and hear...

a little education on the subject of ,"wild" hogs is in order ! any pig , no matter what breed , when loosed into the wild quickly reverts to the wild state . these feral hogs not only become dangerous to humans and wild life , they physically revert to type ! your average little pink oinker when turned loose in the woods will look exactly like a wild russian boar when full grown , with all the ferocity of that animal ! tusks, hair, bad temper ,and all , and will attack and kill anything that it thinks is a threat ,or food . this includes small children , so yes , shoot them on sight , you would`nt want piranha in your pool why would you want feral hogs in your woods ?

Hello,

I have been doing some extensive research on the feral hog problems in the lower states. The company I work for may have a solution that could help some of the rural folks out there. We have been supplying electrified netting to the USA for nearly three decades. These netting applications are built specifically for each specie and have been successful against everything from rabbits to mountain lion and bear.

We currently have a pig net for sale that is being used primarily for pastured animals but could be modified and/or tweaked to keep out the feral hog. They are perfect for keeping predators away from gardens, yards, food plots, orchards, crops, etc. They can also be hooked together for longer runs. I realize that this will not help with the overall population, but it will help folks keep these animals somewhat at bay, and if done on a large scale would force them into larger groups because of decreased acres to roam. In that sense they would be easier to trap and/or to kill. You may see these nets at www.premier1supplies.com .

I plan to travel to these states to view the terrain, talk to some people, bring along some nets and set them up to test the areas and see what we will be up against. I would greatly appreciate it if you could pass me along to some contact people in the area for a possible visit. The more I can learn about these animals the more I can get a netting application designed to fence them out. I look forward to hearing from you along with any additional ideas that could help. Thanks for your time and have a good day.

Pig nets? Are they legal in a shopping zone?
With all of the home invasions taking place lately, I could use an electrified net for the entrance way to my house. How much do they cost? I need one that will contain 4-5 big objects at the same time. Each one weighing between 185 to 300 lbs.

Keep in mind these are WILD hogs. Pigs can get very mean, I can't imagine what kind of damage a wild hog can do to a child.
Our dog was in a fight with a Wild Hog in S.C. and very lucky to have made it home where we promptly took him to our Vet..
He looked like he had been shot with a shotgun in the face and upper body . He had huge holes in his head and neck . It took weeks for him to recover and just as we thought he was out of the woods he developed an infection from that nasty Hog and we ended his misery in a loving manner .
We saw the wild hog later that day in our garden and he was bigger than my 140lb. Rottie .
Do NOT mess with these wild Hogs . PA. needs to make a hunting season for them and they need to be killed .
Period .

I hunt in Bedford County and the game warden said to shoot the wild hogs on sight. No questions asked. They escaped while being transported to a private hunting ground.
Where's Cheney when we need him? I just don't want to be around Cheney if he has a loaded gun. He's not a very good shot.
thats funny, the game warden told me I wasn't allowed to shot them in bedford county because the commission was trapping them.
